    idzik press conference on now.

+1 We are where we are today because Woody Johnson fired the two guys he should have kept and kept the one guy he should have fired. Much of it had to do with the Buttfumble embarrassing the fans and the perception that 'blue collar' Rex was a fan favorite. Mark Sanchez proved that with a set of playmakers he could win 11 games and was money in the postseason, got off to a great start and had legitimate reasons why he hit the wall. Would have been interesting to see him get a shot to bond with some home-grown talent but Ryan never drafted anyone. Mike Tannenbaum proved adept at the salary cap for over a decade and that he could build a playoff contender via the draft and free agency. In his attempt to drum up PR and sell a stadium he actually built a Super Bowl contender. Would have been interesting to see him repeat himself with a better head coach. Rex Ryan inherited an 8-3 team and burned it to the ground, still making the same rookie mistakes, still not caring at all about offense. SAR I

They're both equally terrible for different reasons. Herman Edwards had superior talent, had an above-average quarterback, had a Top 5 offensive line, had a Hall Of Fame running back, and had the Patriots early-on in their dynasty when they were most vulnerable and couldn't do anything with it. Rex Ryan had lesser talent but was so one-dimensional on the defensive side of the ball he forgot all about the offense and committed the mortal sin of having a do-over in the AFC Championship Game and having his team completely unprepared for it, the worst loss in team history. Coaches like Kotite and Coslet never had a chance; the likes of Edwards and Ryan had a great shot and blew it. SAR I

He's a "Parcells guy" so naturally Woody Johnson is infatuated with him. But he hasn't at all been with the Jets for the past 10 years. Pretty sure he was the one who fixed up Romo's throwing motion. Did it in 1 offseason as well, if I recall reading about it. Whatever choking history Romo has had over the years it has nothing to do with his QB coach. OK, looked up his past several jobs (past decade) Past 2 years with the Jets Before that: he was QBC with Buffalo for 1 year (Fitzpatrick 60%+, 24 TD, 16 INT, 3400 yds). He had Stevie Johnson and I guess Chandler and nothing else to throw to outside of his backfield. Before that: OC at Ole Miss (awful season; Ole Miss cleaned house after the season) Before that QBC with Miami (Pennington comeback player of the year) Before that OC Arkansas (3-9 season; they cleaned house after the season) Before that he was QBC and offensive "quality control" coach for Dallas (Tony Romo). But there were also has-been and never-gonna-be QBs there as well that Parcells brought in. In other words, it would seem one can only develop the ones who are develop-able. Regardless of whether one thinks he's ok or sucks, he has not been the Jets' QBC for the past 10 years.

I watch ND and FSU. Winston is ******* awful for the NFL. I'd rather trade back take an OL or WR with the first pick and get a vet QB in FA.

What irks me with Cannizarro is his insinuation that Idzik deserves scrutiny because he hasn't been open with media. As if that would have made things better. Idzik deserves scrutiny because his drafts have been sh*t. It has nothing to do with being nice to the Post's resident fatso.

LOL at the "Idzik needs to go before Rex" and "Rex is a good coach, but not a head coach" rationalizing. God damn y'all are scared to be irate. What's it going to take? Rex ran this team into the ground, Idzik came too late, and without the skills to stop it or fix it... They all have to go. Who cares what order? Who cares about what they did do well? The team is barreling towards a 1 win season and y'all are still empathizing with Rex. Jet fans get what they deserve.

Is any in-fighting between us Jets fans. What happened today was a low point, perhaps the LOWEST point that this team has ever hit. We have a GM, who went up behind a podium and whined for a half hour, trying to tell us how much the owner cares, how much the players care, how much he and the guy that he spends "more time with than his wife" Rex Ryan cares, how much the team president cares, how much the Jets and the owners cares about the community and the fans'why just look at THIS PLACE" (he actually said that). I just don't want to see us calling each other names and fighting today, we are going through the worst time in this snake bitten team's life span. Be compassionate to your fellow Jets fan. he is watching the team he loves in a plane crash like free fall from a window seat. I really feel sorry for us-I really do.

Freud could have a field day with this sh*t. I was the first Rex critic here - from year 1 I've been calling him out as an over-promoted D-line coach. Get your facts straight before you call people out. I'd say that over 90% of the Jets fanbase was happy we replaced Tanny, because Rex sufficiently made him the scapegoat. That said, if you had half a wit about you, you'd remember the skepticism most of us had about him being a "cap guy" and not a "personnel guy". You'd probably remember many of us saying Rex should have been fired with him, and expressing concern that our first choices for GM didn't take the job with Rex here. It was discussed a lot, so it doesn't surprise me that it was lost on you. That said, having the patience to see what the guy has is a virtue - and it really makes no sense why you can't be upset without puking this revisionist history all over the board, as if you saying "Bleedin liked Idzik" is going to make us treat him any different. It's more damaging to how you are perceived, in the end. Your agenda to attach certain posters to Idzik's failures is not only is it juvenile, but it lacks logic and facts to support it. Basically, you are having a big public tantrum about the state of the Jets and creating a correlation between things like Idzik and any poster here who you've embarrassed yourself trying to troll. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY on that list has been a staunch supporter of Idzik. They are all supporters of logic and reason, 2 things that are like kryptonite to you. Your contribution to the site at this point amounts to nothing more than you holding a grudge like a pre-teen girl.

man I really feel sorry for us-we are fans or a team with a clueless owner who is a rich kid with a very expensive toy and a GM who thinks that it'll all be OK if we just stick to the plan and a head coach who has somehow scammed the idiot owner and his minions into keeping him as the head coach even though he still, after 6 years has yet to LEARN anything about how to run a COMPLETE football team. We are so f*cked guys, there is no end in sight either. All we have now is the hope that somehow, someway a Joe Hardy-like QB drops into our lap the way that the last one dropped into the Patriots lap. Only thing though is if one suddenly does, we will never recognize it and probably just release him to be picked up by some other team we hate to win championships. So not only are we the most incompetent NFL team going but we are also the unluckiest and the most clueless because NOBODY at the Jets facility CAN SEE IT!!!

Rex is a worse HEAD coach. He might be a good defensive coordinator (which is yet to be proven both him and his brother get beaten like drums in big games) but a head coach has to be in charge of both sides of the ball. There might even be less team discipline than there was under club Herm and even less accountability.

The Browns looked good yesterday. You must be proud. I'll volunteer a couple of times a year at the local homeless shelter. One year, when I was like 14, I had a women ask me for a kotex and I gave her this long stare like, wtf is she talking about? She figured out that I was clueless and her response was, "you know, the thing women stick in their coochie when its bleeding". It was awesome.

Until we get new people to "Evaluate" the next QB, we will be having this discussion every 2-3 years. The person/persons who "evaluated" Geno coming out of college should be shown the door with him at seasons end. You CAN"T, repeat CAN"T let those guys pick the next Jets QB, plain and simple.

    John Idzik: MERGED

The only thing Idzik was "negligent" over was refraining from firing Rex Ryan last offseason, and of all the "the owner made them do it" claims, THAT (keeping Ryan) is one of the few I actually believe was owner-directed. Give this roster to a real coach, and we're not 1-7 today.

    Antonio Cromartie

It's wishful thinking to assume Cromartie would be helping us much. Cro is capable of the interception but equally capable of looking lost in coverage. Coming into this week the Cardinals had averaged 200 yards/game allowed to wide receivers on the season, surrendering 7 TD's. The only game AZ's secondary hadn't allowed a TD was to the lowly Raiders, who still racked up 9 catches for 137 yards. This week, Jeremy Maclin had 12 catches for 187 yards and 2 TD's, while Riley Cooper had 5 catches for 88 yards and Jordan Matthews contributed 6 catches for 47 yards. Do these numbers demonstrate that Cro would be a game changer for this team? Patrick Peterson's decline is a big part of that, but so is Cro. Cro was saddled primarily with covering Demaryius Thomas in Week 5 and Demaryius ended up with 8 catches for 226 yards and 2 TD's. Saying Cro would be better than what we have here isn't saying much. There's a good reason why he was signed for only $3 million. He's bad on a team that is winning; imagine how bad he'd be with us this year. The problem wasn't failing to re-sign him, the problem was who we replaced him WITH.

Jets needs moar o dem weapinz!

Pryor was probably a bad pick but no chance Cooks does those things here. Kelvin Benjamin would have made the most sense. Even Sanchez would have trouble overthrowing him. Thing is, earlier this season we were saying its hard to evaluate a QB without proper weaponry. The opposite is true. You have to have a solid QB in place. The young receivers in the league can start making plays right away when that is the case. You try to put talented players like Decker and Harvin with a bad QB and these are the results. Wasted talent. Of course, our troubles go beyond QB. The fact that we had to bring in Harvin in the first place after what turned out to be an excellent draft for WR talent speaks volumes about how inept this franchise is at evaluating talent from the outset.

Geno Stinks So Do the Jets

Sh*t for brains Geno, dumba$$ Rex led by novice GM Idzik, third generation airheaded Woody. Combined IQ lowest in the league. Combined payroll on the team lowest in the league, Combined talent level on the team lowest in the league. Combined record now tied for last in the league. I think our window licking idiot team leaders are running in the wrong direction. We're the kinda fools who run for the wrong end zone and celebrate. It's time for the NFL to step in and take pity. SEND US A PROPER GM AND HEAD COACH. Fix the next three drafts so we load up the talent. C'mon man enough already.

Six years, two high-round QB's, three O-Co's, three D-Co's, 2 GM's and a dozen second chances isn't a "fair shake"? And lol at the second part....yup, Rex failed because WE didn't appreciate him. It's all OUR fault. Lol. Thats a new one for the excuse makers.

The funny part is that it's clowns like this who Tebow has to thank, at least in part, for no team in the league having any interest in the nonsense that comes along with him. You know, that and him being completely incompetent as an NFL QB.
