  1. may very well suck, but I'd like to see how he looks with some talent around him so there is little doubt about him. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  2. This is the only thing that makes sense. We're losing Sheldon next year no matter what. He is gonna want a lucrative contract that we can't give him given his history and our depth. At least with Matthews he could potentially turn it around and have the upside to sign a position of need if he does. If he doesn't then so be it, we can let him go and it's no loss since we'd have lost Sheldon anyway Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  3. Calvin Johnson retired because he was tired of playing with a sh*tty team. So he's gonna unretire to come play for a team sh*ttier than anything the likes he's ever seen? Stop Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  4. You're completely dismissing the Richardson driving 1000 mph with a gun, child, odor of weed while evading police. That made him untradeable at the time. Mac had no choice but to hang on and try to salvage something. Problem is I think Macc kept the price too high in the process. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  5. It's simple- a franchise QB is a guy that year in and year out puts himself in the top 15 in all positive QB categories. Anyone below that 15th QB are guys that are either developing or constantly finding themselves looking for new teams. There are not 30 guys on the planet that can play at a consistent level in the NFL at QB. The rules changes of late have only really made good QBs better. It has not elevated bad QB's into franchise QB's. The ability to read an NFL D in real time AND deliver an accurate pass with velocity combined may very well be the hardest thing to do in sports. 6. If we're signing Cousins we're doing so with the notion he's our QB of the future and we're overpaying. There's no way not to. If he hits the market he's going to get top dollar unless he sucks. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

  8. p lynch

I think we should implement a new, innovative game show style GM decision model. Each move a GM makes, we immediately make a determination on hired or fired. Draft a player that at least 50% of fans don't like in that slot-fired. Sign a good player but maybe pay more than 50% of fans felt player was worth? Fired. Make it a tv show, people will line the streets to play. Bonuses and pay for each number of transactions in a row they make without being fired. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  9. Guys being played out of position

Much better! You still got it in you thank goodness. I can handle the Jets sucking, hell they've just about always sucked. Uninspired TomShane posts....... well that just sucks the life out of everything. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  10. Guys being played out of position

What happened to you? Years and years of clever, witty posts that were generally entertaining. Even after your hiatus you were funny. Now you're just ******* miserable. Has Bowles and Macc really done this to you? Jesus even during the Bollinger days you brought value in your posts. Your trolling of Sooth for your big return to JI was epic. You've become the drunk grumpy old Irish guy at the end of the bar that no one wants to talk to any more because it's such a damn downer. Christ where is BrenJetsFan to at least bring some sunshine to this hellhole??? Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  11. All the rules changes that benefit the QB and yet we still can't find 32 people on the planet that can do it well. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  12. Stop The Crap

I have been a member of Jets boards since practically the beginning of time and honestly I can't remember things being so unbearable on message boards as the are now. The team has major issues we can all agree, but there is just some deep seeded desire to absolutely hate anything and everyone on the team. Guys that haven't even stepped on the field are regarded with straight up vitriol. No one is even given the thought of a chance. It's seriously unbearable here right now, there's literally nothing worthwhile to read. I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying it, but it's true and I'm sure it's kept alot of other people away as well. 14. Cortez Kennedy dead at 48

Holy hell a lot of assumptions and wannabe doctors here. News flash folks-people die at 48. I work in Life Insurance, I report out on cause of death metrics for large corporations regularly. This is not that uncommon. It's ridiculous to jump to the conclusion his death had anything to do with his profession. He was a big dude, if you wanna play armchair doctor your best money bet would be with the heart/cardiovascular system. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
  15. Does anyone feel Mariota, Goff, or Wentz, or Trubisky s a legitimate top level stud QB and was willing to trade what would need to be traded to get any of them, and wait out their progress patiently? If so you're one of the folks that can legitimately feel bothered, and you still may have been wrong. Otherwise there were no options to make this a good team.
