  1. I don't think you're wrong but there's nothing that can be done about bad ownership. He's not going to fire himself. Gotta just hope for the best when it comes to that.
  2. Someone said on X yesterday that if you believe Aaron Rodgers is still a top 10 QB it's hard to not see the Jets as one of the best teams in the league on paper. I think that's fair. I think at this point i'm all in on another offensive lineman at 10 just to solidify depth on the line combined with the fact that Tyron Smith hasn't played a full season since 2015. Bowers will be intriguing though if he is there.
  3. Reddick is an elite pass rusher. I like the move. Would have loved to have kept Huff but he signed early and the Jets had other needs to fill out at the time, they may not have known how much money they could allocate for Huff when they needed an entirely new offensive line, receiver, etc.
  4. There's just no way the Jets are taking a QB in the 1st round when Douglas and Saleh are on the hot seat.
  5. They have plenty of options now. They can take another offensive tackle for insurance. Tyron Smith hasn't played a full season since 2015, and only signed a 1 year deal. AVT is coming off back to back injury plagued seasons. They can draft a receiving threat like Brock Bowers. Or they can trade back, maybe recoup the 2nd round pick they lost in the Rodgers trade, still take an offensive lineman like Mims, and have more draft ammo to use. If the Jets are sitting at 10 and a QB teams want like McCarthy or even Penix are sitting there still, things could get interesting. If I had to pick I would say take Brock Bowers at 10 if he is there. If he isn't, take Fuaga or Fautanu (assuming Alt and Fashanu are gone)
  6. The Jets finally getting out from Becton is a good thing. That pick in 2020 caused so many unintended chain of events throughout the years in my opinion. They could never count on him but wanted to. His injuries and poor performance after his rookie year forced the Jets to sign Morgan Moses and then let Moses walk after 2021 because they thought Becton would be back in 2022. It forced them to sign Duane Brown in 2022 and move Fant back to right tackle after he actually settled in pretty nicely at left tackle when Becton went down in 2021. It forced the Jets to jerk AVT around on the offensive line multiple times. Players get hurt, it happens. But that Becton pick was such a disaster. It seems this season, on paper at least, we are finally going into training camp with a set offensive line.
  7. An absolute beast when he is healthy. Jets have a lot of options now at pick 10. They could draft another O-Lineman if they really like a player that is sitting there, they could take a pass catcher like Bowers or if one of the big 3 receivers if one fell, or they can trade back, and recoup some more picks. Douglas has done a good job in this FA cycle.
  8. Willie Colon made a great point on one of the SNY post game shows towards the end of the season about a team needing to keep and develop their own guys. I think the Jets let too many guys walk who they shouldn't, especially on the O-Line. Unfortunately Becton isn't one of those guys. There's too many questions about his effort, commitment to football, and obviously injury history. Biggest mistake of the Joe Douglas tenure remains Becton over Wirfs in my opinion.
  9. Good move, good player. He never should have been allowed to leave after 2021.
  10. I don't believe for a second that Aaron Rodgers is seriously considering running for VP on an Independent ticket with RFK Jr. The issue as of now though is that Rodgers hasn't shot down the report. All he has to do is tweet out "I'm committed to the Jets for the 2024 season" and the story is over, and there is no issue. But he won't, likely because he loves the attention. Douglas and Saleh have hitched their wagon to Rodgers and need him to save their jobs. They are at his mercy. The show goes on. IMO what likely happened is RFK Jr. told Aaron Rodgers he should considering running with him, and Rodgers, likely joking, said that's a great idea, or something like that. Then the Kennedy campaign says "he welcomed the overture" and here we are. Just my opinion.
  11. Would have preferred Brissett but he signed with the Patriots where he has a much better chance to start. Tyrod Taylor is a solid signing for a backup QB. Hard to ask for much more. He has his flaws, but he can play. Hopefully the Jets draft a QB in the middle rounds of this draft to be QB 3.
  12. This organization can and has done a lot worse than OBJ and/or Hollywood Brown at receiver.
  13. I do think they would be a lot better with Rodgers but I forgot Sutton signed an extension with the Broncos. That's too much money. You're right.
  14. They wouldn't do it, but I'd take both. Garrett Wilson/Courtland Suton/Jerry Jeudy/Xavier Gipson/Allen Lazard/Jason Brownlee Then spend the rest of the off season on the offensive side of the ball focusing on the O-Line.
  15. I'd have no problem with the Jets taking Bowers if he was there at 10.
  16. I doubt he is going anywhere. Probably a restructure candidate.
  17. The Giants "dumped" Kadarius Toney last year to the Chiefs and he caught a huge TD in the Super Bowl in that game and helped the Chiefs win. And he was a first round pick. Who cares at the end of the day?
  18. Players get traded, released, and sign with different teams all the time.
  19. I'm not sure if Bowers is going to be there at 10 but if he is and the Jets take him, I'd be very happy with that pick.
  20. Have the Jets neglected the O-Line though? Becton (1st round) AVT (1st round), and Tippman (2nd round) They just haven't always picked the right players. Becton over Wirfs was such a mistake.
  21. Fireable offense I think Bowles and the Bucs coaching staff weren't paying attention to the fact that the Lions screwed up the kneel downs but their excuse was worse. Saying they were going to just kick a field goal and why prolong the inevitable was disgraceful.
  22. I think they'll beat the Falcons next week. Could honestly see them giving Stroud trouble also if the team is still motivated to play in 2 weeks.
  23. Gotta draft offense. Continue to try and fix the O-Line. Add another outside receiver in free agency.
  24. I actually thought Tim Boyle looked better.
