Yes, but the old mediocre past that is Chad is still better than anything we have right now including Clemens. I really don't see how we can move on unless maybe we draft Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm at #6. But if we do that it will take a while for them to adjust to the NFL and we would most likely not win many games next year. Our best option to win right now is Chad, like it or not.

I want Chad to stay. He is still the best QB we have right now. Like it or not, he gives us the best chance to win. He didn't really have a bad year statistically. The thing that killed him as starter last year was throwing INTs at the worst time. But when KC was starter he threw the same type of INTs as Chad. KC had the lowest passer rating of any QB in the league last year. Chad is also the unquestioned leader of this team. He is the best fit for this offense. The reason Kellen won more games last year was because the defense stepped up during his starts. Had the defense played as well when Chad was starting, we would definitely have more than 1 win in our first 8 games when Chad started.

Us Jets fans really don't know how lucky we are having Chad as our QB. I can name plenty of teams that need a QB like Chad, for example: The Dolphins, Ravens, Chiefs, Redskins, Bucs, Falcons, Bears, Vikings, Lions, and 49ers. If we can surround Chad with a better O-Line, Defense, and better play calling, he could lead us to a superbowl. Think about it, with a better O-Line it will give Thomas Jones more room to run. If Thomas Jones has more room to run, it will take some pressure off Chad. With a better defense, maybe we would have some sort of pass rush that we lacked last season. We also need a better run defense because teams ran all over us last season.

Trust me, if management does its job and improves the team by actually signing quality free agents and we have a productive draft, we should be in for a good season and a legit shot at advancing far to the playoffs into the super bowl. Chad doesn't have to be spectacular and carry us through every game. If he just manages the game and not make many mistakes, we should be fine. Teams have won super bowls with game managers as QBs. (see Trent Dilfer with Ravens in 01 season, Brad Johnson with Bucs in 03 season.) Plus, there really isn't any top must have free agent QBs on the market this offseason. I see Chad as our best option for starter next season. I want him to stay.

  4. D-MONEY87 added a post in a topic Dear Jets, Please Cut Nuge this off season.

I would like to have a different kicker but really, is there anyone better that's available this offseason? Because I don't know who else is out there. Maybe it's just better to stick with Nuge and hope he gets better.

I have to admit I'm not surprised, he basically overused Curtis Martin when he was with us. Well at least now we don't have to deal with Herm anymore.

Which Jets player has impressed you the most?
I have to admit, our 1st round pick Darelle Revis has really impressed me. He's getting better and learning more everyday on the pro level. I can see him becoming a shut down Cornerback really soon. He's shown he can do it by stepping up against some of the best opposing receivers and shutting them down. He's shut down Randy Moss, and except for that late TD catch in the 4th quarter he's shut down Terrell Owens. This kid has a bright future ahead of him and I can't wait to see him progress even more next year. I think we definitely did the right move by trading up to get this guy. Which player has impressed you guys the most this season?

He lost his job because he was put on IR for the rest of the season.

Would Chad still be starting if our O Line was at least decent?
I think with a decent O-line Chad would never have lost his starting job. Clemens has had the same or maybe even less success than Penny has had this season with this horrendous offensive line. What do you guys think?

Take your pick: Clemens vs. Leinart at QB
Last year in the draft we had the chance to draft Matt Leinart in the 1st round but instead we went with D Brick and decided to take Kellen Clemens in the 2nd round. I remember watching the draft last year before the Jets chose their 1st pick, ESPN did a close up on Matt Leinart as the Jets were announcing their pick and when it wasn't him you could see the look of disappointment on his face. I really think he wanted to be on the Jets and be in a big market team with all the attention. Anyway, do you guys think we would've been better off with Leinart as our QB of the future or would you rather have Clemens? I'll admit that Leinart has looked better in his games than Clemens has, so I would pick Leinart.

In which moment this season did you know that we were heading for a losing season?
I would have to say when Chad threw that pick-six to end the game against the Bills in week 4. We were supposed to win that game and be 2-2 heading on the right track. But instead we were 1-3 and it just seems that everything went downhill from there. Especially considering that that was the start of our 6 game losing streak.

  12. D-MONEY87 added a post in a topic The Jets Will Shock the World and BEAT New England

If we win this game on Sunday, it would almost make up for the terrible season we've has this year. Actually, it would probably be one of the few highlights of this year. We would've defyed the odds and beat the mighty undefeated Patriots. How great would it be if the Pats went 15-1 and the guys at ESPN and everywhere else would mention that the one loss came against the JETS.

  13. D-MONEY87 added a post in a topic John Clayton on Jet QB SITUATION for 2008

Based on the free agent QB market right now, maybe it's better to just stick with Clemens as starter and pay Pennington to stay. Pennington is probably better than Grossman or Culpepper and would be really helpful if Clemens were to go down with an injury or something.

Take Your Pick: Current Jets Jerseys or Throwback Titans Jerseys?
I got a Titans Thomas Jones jersey yesterday and I have to admit, it's starting to grow on me. Before I bought it, I didn't think it was anything special but now I think they look real cool. But nothing can replace the good ol' Green and White jerseys. I'd have to pick the current ones. Which do you guys think is best?

Would bad weather take away significance from a possible upset of the Pats?
If we end up miraculously beating the Patriots this sunday but in snowy conditions or bad weather conditions as last year, would that diminish our upset win. I bet the ESPN analysts would blame the bad weather conditions for a Patriots loss, especially if the game were close. I actually think it would mean more winning in bad weather because it would make the game that much harder to play. What do you guys think?
