  1. Joe was great for a few years, Joe was damaged goods. that does count, he would not be in the Hall if it was based entirely on what he did on the field. it's our luck we had a player like that and he was damaged goods but he was, can't change that.

as far as the draft goes. from 1960-1999 we drafted ONE hall of fame player that played the majority of his career as a Jet. from 2000-2017 we drafted at least one and have a chance for more. let's look at 1990-1999 and 2000-2009 1990-1999 w/o Woody: we drafted the following PB players: terance mathis(made it w/ Atl 1x) Rob Moore 2x PB(1 w/ Jets, 1x AP(w/ Ari) Mo Lewis 3x PB, 1x all pro Aaron Glenn 3x PB(2 w/ Jets) Jeff Blake 1x w/ Cincy Craig Hentrich(never played a down for us), 2x PB, 1x AP Richie Anderson 1x PB Hugh Douglas 3x PB, 1x AP all w/ Philly Keyshawn 3xPB(2 w/ us, 1 w/ TB) James Farrior 2x PB, 1x AP all w/ Pitt 10 players that made at least PB, 5 made at least 1 1st team AP team of those 10, 5 made PB w/ Jets and only 1 all pro season was w/ Jets. In total they got 9 PB seasons, 1 AP season 2000-2009: Shaun Ellis 2x PB John Abraham 5x PB, 2x AP(3 PBs and 1 AP w/ us) Laveranueus Coles 1x PB w/ Wash Santana Moss 1x PB w/ Wash Jonathan Goodwin 1x PB w/ NO Jonathan Vilma 3x PB(1 w/ Jets) Justin Miller 1x PB Brick 3x PB Mangold 7x PB, 2x AP Leon Washington 2x PB(1 w/ us), 1x AP Revis 7x PB(5 w/ us), 4x AP(3 w/ us) 11 players that made at least one PB, 4 AP of those 11, 8 made PB w/ us, 4 made AP w/ us In total they got 25 PBs, 7 All Pro seasons by the way, we tended to draft higher in the 90s and we had many more picks. 1990-1999 we had 97 picks, 200-2009 we had 67 picks. so I guess we did draft better under Woody, huh?
  3. I wanted to create this to share youtube clips of old games. the NFL cracks down from time to time so they may not last but enjoy them while they do. 1982 AFC 1st rd at Cincinnati

woody isn't scouting, he's trusting league people on his hires. he had 2 SB winning Gms help in the search for Macc and Bowles and it still turned out bad. I am not sure what he could do other than try to pry away a great HC or GM from another team w/ dirty tactics.
  5. people keep talking about #s of past QBs compared to Eli's compiled #s as if they mean something. you cannot compare #s of a QB in this pass happy, rules favor the O era against #s of players from the 60s/70/80s and even 90s. it's a very different game.
  6. This team must be sold

luck plays a major role, some are better at drafting than others but luck still plays a role. you are telling drafting the greatest QB of all time in the 6th round wasn't lucky?
  7. This team must be sold

the steelers w/ all their history aren't as valuable as the Jets. from 1960-1999(40 seasons) the Jets made the playoffs 8 times and won 6 playoff games, from 2000-2016(17 seasons) the Jets have made it 6 times and won 6 PO games.
  8. This team must be sold

every owner will make mistakes, from 2001-2011 we had the best stretch of Jets football in our history and he keeps trying to win. doesn't always work out but he tries. unfortunately we didn't get lucky and draft a Tom Brady in the 6th round. that changed that entire organization and the career of that HC.
  9. This team must be sold

That's just not true. Parcells wanted to leave after 1998, we were lucky to get another year out of him. BB left b/c he didn't want BP over his shoulder, he wanted to break free and BP never told BB of his intentions to step down. Groh sucked, never should have been hired in the first place. he was a fraud and he knew he it so he bolted. The Jets were a mess when Woody took over. 1 Playoff app in 8 years, 2 coaches walking out on them, looming cap issues, old starting QB,... that's what owners do, they try to make as much money as possible. it happened w/ the giants, Yankees, all the other NFL teams w/ new stadiums. that's life as a sports fan today. the real fan was forgotten about a long time ago.
  10. This team must be sold

His biggest mistakes were: -allowing BP to stay in FO when he quit as HC then allowing him to hire Groh but woody was 5 minutes into the job when that happened. -firing Tannenbaum which led to firing Rex -hiring Idzik it really all started w/ Tannenbaum. his firing led to Idzik which led to his disastrous drafts, led t Rex getting fired, led to hiring Bowles and here we are
  11. This team must be sold

they are trying something different, rather than the band aid approach for a quick fix they are trying to tear it down and build it up. the other ways we came close to SBs but didn't get there, what's wrong w/ trying a new approach?
  12. This team must be sold

then don't complain about pricing, you make your own decisions. if the pricing bothered you that much you wouldn't go. would you prefer the tickets and everything to be cheap like under hess w/ no chance to win? or for the tickets to have gone up and have a chance to win like we have had under Woody? Parcells quit b/c that's what he does, this was a man that was under contract and was to become the falcons HC after the Giants won the SB in '86, a man who was under contract and made a deal w/ the Jets, a man who jilted TB twice after agreeing. BB left b/c of PARCELLS. groh left b/c he saw the writing on the wall. you are seriously blaming woody when Parcells and BB had already quit before he even won the bid? come on, you are better than that.
  13. No, he was just selling bogus memorabilia to make some extra money in addition to his millions.
  14. and he had a much better career than Eli which included a league MVP.
  15. Joe based on his playing career does not belong, Joe is in the Hall for what he meant to the growth of pro football. He was nowhere near the best player or best QB but he is the most important player to ever play pro football and that is why he is in and on the #s we cannot compare a QB in this era to a QB from that era. we can compare them against their peers: all pro: Joe 1x(this doesn't count AFL APs) Eli ZERO, not even a 2nd team top 5 pass yds: Joe: 6(led 3 times) Eli: 2(highest finish was 5th) top 5 pass TDs: Joe:7(led once) Eli: 2(highest was 4th) rating: Joe: 4(highest 3rd) eli: ZERO INTs is where they are comparable: Eli led 3 times Joe led 4 times both won SBs b/c of their defenses, Eli just happened to win 2 of them. Plunkett is the only one and Eli's career is very similar. Both struggled early then became solid starters but never top end starters. Neither belongs in the Hall.
  16. This team must be sold

no one forced you to get ripped off w/ a PSL, no one forces you to go to games. Those are your decisions and those types of decisions should be made on time spent w/ family and friends and not on wins and losses which we have no control over.
  17. This team must be sold

we suck right now, every team has bad seasons but we had the greatest stretch of jets football in our history w/ Woody. we once went an entire decade w/o making the playoffs, from 1960-1980 we made the playoffs just 2 times. From 1987-1997 we made it once(at 8-8), right now it sucks but I'd take the last near 20 years w/ Woody than what we had under Hess for all those years.
  18. Crazy stat from Cimini

Eli had good #s in 2015 but he was terrible. he put up a ton of garbage time points and melted late in games throughout the year including against us which gave us a chance to steal that game. Eli hasn't been good in many years and the Giants O has suffered b/c of it despite all the weapons around him.

  21. This team must be sold

Maybe Leon Hess' corpse can buy the team back and Jet fans can realize how good we have had it w/ Woody.
  22. Crazy stat from Cimini

you seem to be a bigger giant fan than jet fan.
  23. Crazy stat from Cimini

That sounds like excuse making to me. we only had 7 garbage time points this past weekend and 1 garbage time TD against Buf. take those out and we are still better. if they are in 14-10 dogfights why can't their O score more? their last 8 games last year the Giants went 6-2. the games they won they allowed 20, 16, 13, 7, 6, 10. the games they lost they allowed 24 each time. Eli stinks, he has been holding this team back, when the D is really good they win, if not they lose. Eli has incredible weapons at his disposal while we have a seahawks reject as our #1 WR yet we are scoring more.
  24. Jet Coaches and their QB's

just like 1998 he was still a threat D's had to gameplan for which opened up the p[ass game. In the SB he only had 11 carries for 42 yds and a TD. maybe if they didn't abandon the run game and try to rely on Drew and the pass game they would have won or had a chance? or maybe if another non LT led BB D didn't fold in big a spot?
  25. In 4 of his 6 postseasons(how many HOFers in parity era only made playoffs 6 times in 13+ year career?) he went one and done. yes he was really good in those 2 runs but he has NEVER won a playoff game when his D allowed more than 20 points. let's look at HOFers that played in the 80s and beyond and see how many never won a PO game when D allowing more than 20. also let's check how many made it under 50% of seasons Dan Fouts, made it 4 of basically 9 full seasons, 44%- similar but Fouts set records, was multiple all pro and 2 of his playoff wins opponents scored 38 and 28. Joe Montana- no need to even post Jim Kelly: took over worst team in football by the way, made POs 8x in 11 seasons, won PO games when opponent scored 34 John Elway: 10 PO apps in 15 seasons, 67%. won PO games when opponent scored 33, a SB when opp scored 24 Steve Young(who I think is very overrated but a deserving HOFer): 7 PO apps in 9 seasons as starter. won PO games when opps scored 28 & 27 Dan Marino: 10 PO apps in 16 seasons, 63%. won PO game w/ opp scoring 28 Warren Moon: 7 PO apps in 13 seasons, 54%. even Warren Moon who was terrible postseason QB won a game when opp scored 23 Troy Aikman: took over worst team in football. made PO 8x in 12 seasons. won PO game where opp scored 27 Brett favre: 12 POs in 19 seasons, 63%. legendary PO choker but he won games where opps scored 24 & 27 Kurt Warner: took over awful franchises and led both to SBs. 5 PO apps in basically 6 full seasons. won PO games when opps scored 37, 24, 24, 25 and FORTY FIVE are we saying Eli belongs on a list w/ these players? seriously? all b/c his D shut down historically great offenses and allowed him to win SBs by leading O to 17 and 19 pts?
