Mariucci to Be Fired Friday?

The Troll

Can't find a link anywhere, but it says it in the corner on ESPNEWS.

-----------------

Pretty surprising that the Lions choose to make this move immediately. This is very good for them, IMO. The entire time I was watching the game, I was in bewilderment that "Mooch" still has a job. From abandoning a successful run game early to shelving Harrington for Garcia when Harrington was playing solid. I'm glad to see another coach that lives and dies by the pussified West Coast offense go down in flames. =D>

Looks like it's possible.....

Can't say I really feel sorry for a lot of these coaches -- Herm and Mooch included.......I'm sure Mooch has cut short the childhood aspirations of playing in the NFL for dozens of players that he cut or waived.

Cutting players is just a business decision, right Mooch and Herm?

Well, so is firing coaches.....And, Mooch made a ton of money in Detroit to boot.....and he did nothing.

P.S: Matt Millen should be out the door, too

Mariucci hasn't done much, I agree, but I think Millen should get the axe first. He's been a joke for a GM since he's been there.

I just posted this on ganggreen... What do you guys think:

--------

I'm not one of these "Herm must go" guys, because I think they deserve a second shot with this offensive coordinator after all the injuries.

However, if you are inclined to make a change, what would you guys think of Mariucci? I know he's not doing awesome in Detroit, but I think that's the lack of a QB that fits his system. Pennington, if healthy, would be perfect for his system.

Mariucci is a championship coach, but some may argue that he didn't do it with his players, but instead did it with Seifert's players.

I'm curious to what people think. I'm not necessarily on board, I just wanted to open up the debate.

(One note, he said last time, with time left on his contract after getting fired from SF, that the only reason he came back was because it was his hometown team. He may be inclined to sit a year and collect his money.)
