Chargers lineman released after practice fight
Chargers offensive lineman Ikechuku Ndukwe wasn’t happy with how his teammate Vaughn Martin was bull rushing him in practice, and asked him to stop.
Martin didn’t stop, so Ndukwe tried to beat the crap out of Martin. After that Ikechuku Ndukwe is no longer a member of the San Diego Chargers after he punched and kicked teammate Vaughn Martin in practice on Thursday.
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Chargers cut Ndukwe Friday after he dropped Martin with a punch and then kicked him during Thursday’s practice.
The San Diego Chargers have dealt with a number of injuries on the offensive line, but Ndukwe wasn’t a key member of the team. He’s appeared in two games as a reserve.
According to Acee, Ndukwe "dropped" defensive lineman Vaughn Martin with a punch and kicked Martin after becoming upset with how he was being bull-rushed. Signed when Kris Dielman was placed on injured reserve in November, Ndukwe appeared in two games before he was inactive for Monday night's 38-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Confirmed Big Ben suffered ankle sprain
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's Friday MRI exam confirmed that he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cleveland Browns, according to a league source.
Roethlisberger suffered the injury to his left leg during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 14-3 win over the Cleveland Browns Thursday night.
Roethlisberger is in a walking boot and in a considerable amount of pain after receiving one of the biggest scares of his career
He completed 8 of 12 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in the second half. Roethlisberger also posted his higher passer rating of the season (129.6) despite playing on a bad leg for half the game.
Roethlisberger went down after getting sacked by Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Brian Schaefering and Scott Paxson during the second quarter of Thursday's win. Roethlisberger's left leg appeared to be pinned underneath Paxson as the quarterback fell to the ground. He missed the final minutes of the second quarter but returned at the start of the second half.
Roethlisberger will wear a walking boot this weekend and be re-evaluated next week. A high ankle sprain generally sidelines a player for at least two weeks, but it is important to note Roethlisberger has 10 days to get ready for next week's Monday Night showdown with the San Francisco 49ers.

Cowboys look to Sammy Morris for backfield help
With DeMarco Murray out for the rest of the season with a fractured right ankle, the Cowboys are likely to sign San Antonio’s Sammy Morris to add depth at running back.
According to the report that the Jay graduate is scheduled to visit Valley Ranch on Tuesday and sign later that day . Citing anonymous sources, the web site also reported that Murray will undergo surgery Monday.
Murray will be shut down for the remainder of the season, putting the Cowboys in a position where they will need to add a back or two. Murray was injured in the first quarter of Sunday night’s grueling loss at home to the New York Giants, one that knocked the Cowboys out of first place in the NFC East.
Morris was cut by the New England Patriots in the preseason after spending four years with the team. He didn’t see much time with them in 2010, carrying the ball just 20 times for 56 yards, and saw his playing time drop steadily after leading the team in rushing with 727 yards in 2008. Morris has also played with the Bills and Dolphins, where he was a teammate of Jason Garrett, during his 12-year NFL career.
