The Jets signed a so called washed up RB and a Schmuck WR for 50 Mil care to comepare that to the talent the Giants lost but then quickly replaced ? WITH BETTER TALENT

The complaint all season long was player turnover at receiver, specifically losing Edwards and Cotchery. Teams do well every year with player turnover. QBs get used to new receivers every single season. The good ones make lousy talents look like mediocre ones. They make mediocre talents look good. They make good players look great. Sanchez does none of this. He makes formerly good & great players into mediocre ones and they dog their routes knowing he's not delivering it. I'm not absolving the receivers because they are a hard group to like as a fan. But they are plenty talented. Sanchez can only rarely deliver the goods and you can bet they know it.

I suppose there will be no end to the excuses until we surround Sanchez with the AFC's starting pro bowl lineup and the game's greatest offensive masterminds.

C'mon bro. You've seen enough football that I know you can see the difference between Sanchez and the game's better QBs.

I know Sanchez stinks....the Jets entire philosophy stinks though. We have zero depth on offense.

The Giants find guys like Victor Cruz and Jake Ballard. The Jets don't find anyone. Cruz made a play that basically won the Giants the game....have the Jets had one big play this year?

Smashmouth, I think the defense has to be tinkered with too. LBs are too slow, safeties are horrible. Wilkerson was a great pick, but nobody else really stands out.

I agree Safety LB are big concernes

Well no the Jets have not made a big play because Santonio the super star has not caught a ball and had half the secondary fall to the ground while he trotted into the endzone.

LOL!!!

They lost their all-pro RB from the year before.
Their all-pro TE was acting up like a baby all season and then got injured before the playoffs.
Said TE was replaced by a 5th round rookie who blocked worse than Dustin Keller at the time.
They were starting Amani Toomer, who was far from a "skill player" at that point.
The great Sinorice Moss was their slot receiver.
Rookie Steve Smith who missed most of the season.
Derrick Ward & Reuben Droughns had a couple hundred carries.
Brandon Jacobs missed the first third of the season & wasn't exactly the goal-line beast of a year prior.
They also did some OL shuffling, after cutting their starting LT and his replacement retired.
In addition to Barber, who was still arguably the NFC's best RB in '06, they also "lost" Tim Carter (started 8 games the year before), Jim Finn, and Visanthe Shiancoe from their 2006 team.

All the Sanchez excuse-makers would be screaming bloody murder if the Jets did Sanchez like that, and likely would have followed that up with citing all-time great QBs who couldn't have possibly led the team to a superbowl.

Ha! And since then, they've "surrounded him with talent" and the results are???

WTF are you talking about ? So guys got hurt and retired yet they still got Nicks and Mannigham and Bradshaw do you bother to look at how much the giants have invested in skill players compared to the Jets ?

The Jets lost no one of the caliber of Tiki Barber or Jeremy Shockey, let alone two.

Sanchez sucks. The whole country can see that.

I think the take-home point, with the Eli-Sanchez comparison, is that someone of Tiki's skill level is not needed if your QB isn't as bad as Sanchez. You can win a SB without one, and the Giants did.

We're getting to the thinking point here that if you had Aaron Rodgers you could put functioning retards at WR and everything would be ok.

It isnt that simple, you need guys that can play. The guys surrounding Brees and Rodgers, Eli are very good football players in their own right.

I've already said numerous times Sanchez looks to be getting worse, but the entire offense is a mess, including the guys he's throwing to. Seriously how many times is our first round tight end going to take a pass off the facemask? How many times is Shonn Greene going to drop a pass right into his hands? How many times is our 50 million WR going to drop a pass and turn the ball over? The entire offense needs to be blown up.

Holmes would be a lot more motivated to play with a better QB.. Do you really think if Rodgers was on this team we wouldn't be a top 3 offense?

He just lost Jennings and had one of his best games of the year against a damn good defense

great QB's make everyone else better around them, they throw receivers open, they hit them in stride, they don't leave them hanging.. they keep them on their toes cause they go through all their progresions

The whole country does not watch the Jets every week or for the past 10 years. This team has not had a dynamic Skill player in years on this football team. NOT ONE......Did you watch Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas last night ? thats dynamic

Actually I did. What I saw were a couple of TD passes - that first one to his TE and then the 2nd one to Meachem I think - that never would have happened because Sanchez would have been sacked. Brees buys his receivers time and in the case of the first one to his TE, not only knows how to use a height advantage but can also deliver the ball there on demand.

Odd that you would pick last night for comparison. McKnight would have looked awfully similar if Sanchez hit him when he was wide open. And it happens a lot, even on short passes.

No Brees receivers actully help their QB when he is in trouble by scrambling to get open while the Jets WR's stand with their heads up their asses. McKnight LOL your kidding me right ? Mcknight is horrible and goes down as soon as hes touched hes not even close to being in the same league with any one of the Saints backfield

So McKnight was not open down the sideline with his man beat by a couple of yards, only to have Sanchez badly overthrow him? Clearly the forces of evil are conspiring to show something on my TV screen that didn't happen.

Brees was not standing comfortably in the pocket. Sanchez would have been clobbered and the blame for the play would have gone to the OL's lousy blocking. Never is it considered that our QB is allowed to move his feet and avoid pressure.

It makes no sense for you to compare Brees to Sanchez. Brees is awesome and Sanchez sucks. I will never excuse them giving up on a play but I guarantee they often give up because they friggin' know he's not delivering it to them. Brees looks at one receiver and throws to another. Brees...actually, forget it. I'm not going to enumerate the differences because if that is required then the exercise is pointless.

Sperm you know Im not comparing Sanchez to Brees Im talking talent here so dont push the comparision angle. I have been doing this for years because i think the Jets have always had inferior talent compared to the better offenses in the NFL that along with an Idiot for an OC and you get what you have now Inconsistency and predictability and IMHO that makes it very hard on a young QB to succeed. Could I be wrong ? Of course but I want to see what this kid can do with some changes made first and foremost at OC.
