Anyone want Andy Reid as their next head coach?

Based on the fact that he only lost his 1st string QB, not his 1st and 2nd, and his team has completely TANKED, absolutely QUIT on this coach...I'm sure the Eagles organization will can his ass.

Why not.....all coaches that have injury problems need to be canned immediately!!

Right

Funny stuff right here.

JonEDumbass tries to make a comparison of one of the top 3 HC's in the NFL to the moron the Jets have roaming their sidelines.

Hey JonE, in the last 5 years how many NFC Championship games have the Eagles played in?

And how many AFC Championship gmes have the Jets played in?

See how ridiculously stupid your thread is?

Andy is a good coach, but i'm not enamored with his style and not real happy the way he treated whole TO fiasco.

At least Andy has a football mind and is involved with gameplanning. Herm is like a project manager on the Apprentice and just sits on his bum and makes no decision. Easy for Trump to can !!!!!!!

Not to be a wiseass here.

BUT

While I agree that Andy Reid is a top tier coach isn't the goal to WIN the Super Bowl. That is all everybody talks about here.

This is the same coach that lost 2 NFC title games at HOME no less.

1) To a team that had never even won a game when the temperture was below 32 degrees in the last game ever played at the VET.

2) Losing an NFC Championship to Carolina at the Linc when the only reason they got there was because of a miracle 4 and 26 conversion.

Don't get me wrong. I like Reid and the work the he and the Philly front office has done is amazing but all in all he is no better than Bill Cowher who everyone seems to run out of Pittsburgh.

The Eagles this year were destroyed by injuries and T.O. Mike McMahon is there version of Brooks Bollinger. He is and will be no better than a clipboard QB. Their running game is non-existant and their once excellent defense has slipped a couple of notches.

Sounds familiar doesn't it.

the grass is always greener on the other side right jets fans?

nothing new with Reid. remember the 2 minute offense that wouldn't/couldn't run in the super bowl? Jets fans would lose sphincter control if Herm blew the biggest game of the franchise's history.

The problem here is that Jets fans remember Parcells with Belly and Weiss on the same staff and they see Herm and they want something better. Only problem is that the days of Tuna and Belly and Weiss sitting around a table turning chicken s--t into chicken salad are gone and they will never return. In retrospect the late ninties Jets had possibly the greatest NFL coaching staff assembled in the modern era.

At least Reid is involved with creation of a gameplan, Our Chef only knows when to add salt to a steak. You can argue that Reid's GP have been flawed at times... You can also argue that Herm couldn't find or develop a GP to save his life. He is like the kid in college that cannot complete a term paper and buys one off the internet.

I'm not crazy about Reid or his style I think he is protected by great coordinators to an extent. I wouldn't go nuts to get him on one hand. On the other hand I wouldn't compare him to a Rich Kotite/Herm Edwards either.

The guy that is a large part of Eagles success is Jim Johnson their defensive coordinator- his aggressive style and play calling for the defense over the last couple of years has put them in the position to win championships

I think we had that once.

I have a question because I find Jest fans admiration of Charlie Weiss somewhat perplexing. Now do not get me wrong. I liked Charlie, I wish he was still the OC of the Pats. That said, I DESTINCTLY remember Parcells stripping Charlie of his playcalling duties. Further I recall Jets fans applauding the move and calling Charlie a bum. Now, this was a long time ago, and it was at that other board when it was in its infancy - but it happened. I swear. Anyway, how do Jets fans go from Weiss is a bumb to Weiss is great?

oh yeah one more thing the Eagles cannot run the football, nor could they reliably run the football at anytime in Reid's tenure, despite the fact that their OL are monsters, probably out weigh the Jets OL by 30 pounds per player. You can't win Super Bowls throwing 50+ times a game, even the 1999 Rams had a strong dose of Marshall Faulk added in there. That's a fundamental flaw with Reid.

Jets fans don't think Herm has a gameplan - that's not true - he has a gameplan it's a simple gameplan but it's proven to be a winner through the years:

Run the ball

Control the clock (i.e. burn the clock, especially on the road)

Don't turn it over

Don't get penalties

boom that's your gameplan right there. Would fans be happier with a martz or a reid who had a game plan to throw throw throw no matter what? It sounds good in theory but the NFL wasteland is littered with failed run and gun experiments. The Houston Oilers with Moon (a dynamic offense) lost that wild card to Frank Reich in Buffalo despite a 35 point lead precisely because they didn't run the football reliably and couldn't kill the clock.

yeah that's a good one. "Win games" is a great gameplan. More coaches should pick up on that.

let's be real before this year Herm was well over .500 for his career as a HC, that didn't make you or many other Jets fans like him any better.

Well before 1989 Walton was well over .500 as well. But you are not graded on portions of your work but rather the entire body - 5 years and we have gotten much much worse.
