Never the less a solid pickup, fits their dink-dunk style very well.
So glad we drafted Davis we need a L.B who can cover backs.

In a perfect world, Shane Vereen takes over as the lead back. Ridley, Woodhead and Addai carve out time to give Vereen a breather.
"Our two most painful Patriots' losses ever, are sandwiched between two Manning family Superbowl victories. Talk about being the book of squandered opportunities between two butt hole bookends."
"I just wish they didn't get lucky when they selected that arrogant cleft-chinned, super-modeling banging prick in the sixth round out of Michigan. It's amazing how much I hate Mo Lewis now."

I thought he was out of the league
they never run it anyway
they didnt get him just to run they got him because he can catch the ball out of the backfield better than any other back they have

No question this is the most talent we've had since I took over as head clown and stuff
I can tell ya this, no ones gonna wanna play the Jets next year

That is why I want Vereen. He was a real good receiving threat in college.

If Addai is the Patriots leading rusher, things have gone wrong.
In a perfect world, Shane Vereen takes over as the lead back. Ridley, Woodhead and Addai carve out time to give Vereen a breather.
I wouldn't expect Woodhead to be on the roster opening day.

Who would take his spot? As it is they have five backs on the roster, and one of them, Faulk, probably could have retired a few years ago if he wanted to (and he still might before the start of the season).
My only real concern is that other than Ridley, they don't have an "up the gut" runner for hard yards on short yardage plays.

Maybe.
The Patriots have signed two FBs that are known for their blocking and have the Navy guy under contract.
If this is a shift from single back to more power running with a FB, then Woodhead could be in danger. The NFL seemed to catch upto him Danny was less efective last year.
Belichick's refusal to allow a GM has probably cost him two or three Super Bowl rings.
TS that is debatable.
I am not saying he is nailing every draft pick.
No matter what you think about his drafting ability and you clearly think he has done poor. Even the best GMs miss picks and there is no saying a GM running that aspect of the Patriots organization would have gotten this team more titles.
As is, Belichick has taken this team to 2 Superbowls and narrowly missed a third since the dynasty ended. Despite drafting in the lower third of each round of the draft, they have been consistently one of the best team in the AFC in a league designed for mediocrity.
Looking at the best run organizations over the Belichick era, Steelers, Ravens or Colts, the Patriots have won more..everything than those teams.
