He needs to to get stronger and generally just better. I still don't get that pick beyond the fact that all the name guys were off the board (McCants one pick before). Funny that they drafted him over Allen and still got Allen, who was both brought in and a "name" player in the draft.
Edit: does that imply that the Jets played the draft well? They also almost drafted Hill at 16 and landed him almost 30 picks later while getting their guy at 16.
Edit: Did they get their guy at 16? *zoom in slowly in evil smile*

But But Vlad has a good chance! pffft...
Vlad vs. Griffin workout numbers:
40 yard dash: Vlad - 5.21, RTG - 5.54
20 yard dash: 2.86, 3.18
10 yard dash: 1.76, 1.91
Bench reps 225lbs: 29, 14
Vertical jump: 27, 29 (yay Rob!)
Broad jump: 8'04", 8'08" (yay again!)
20 yard shuttle: 4.72, 4.94
30 yard cone: 7.87, 8.03
Vlad's the superior athlete. The bench reps really jump out. Griffin really needs a full year in the weight program on the practice squad.

Its about mobility. Vlad and Hunter are both way more mobile than Griffin.
And stronger....quicker...

How do you know about Griffin at all? Did you scout his Baylor film? I am basing it on seeing Vlad and Hunter stumble. Griffin is still somewhat unknown. And don't give me the combine numbers, BS, it doesn't translate onto the field like some would think. Gholston had a great combine.

Oh you've done extensive scouting on Griffin? You didn't just hear about him forthe first time when you read his name here or on a draft tracker on draft day. sh*t then enlighten me? Secretly he's a powerhouse? I wouldn't be shocked. Late 6th round picks often become Day 1 starters on the OL*.
*Especially with those kind of combine numbers.

I clearly said in my post that Griffin is still unknown as to what he can do on the field. Implying that he could very well be just as good as the 2 wastes of space we have penciled in at RT sooner rather than later. Slauson was a 6th rnder that started in his 2nd season over who? Yep a 2nd round Vlad, and hes supposed to have upside? I don't put much stock into draft positions especially for 6-6 320 plus offensive linemen. They aren't at all that much different from one another, either they can move laterally and have good feet or they don't. Something Vlad and Hunter seem to not do very well.

I would say considering the Little Baby Crusher can already do 17 and he is a freshman in High School, yeah he has a way to go. LOL

True, but Vernon Gholston had the best bench numbers at the combine in 2008, yet on the field he got pushed around like a girl. On the field is what matters most. Lets wait and see.

Vernon was a workoput warrior with 0 heart. Nothing can help that. This dude just needs to hit the weights. Gotta be a little stronger than that.

He's most likely even worse, especially right now.

Pretty interesting #'s actually.
Without knowing a thing about RGII it indicates to me that he has very developed legs, but is soft and weak in his upper torso.
14 reps is pretty bad for a 330# man. Davis did what? 32? At 235?
A year in the weight room could fix that pretty quickly. 0% chance he wins the job this summer.
Next year? We'll see
