those guys are LOADED with talent where it counts

meanwhile the NFC's only other big competition are the Giants, Packers and 49ers. Maybe, just maybe the Falcons too.

I don't see the Saints threatening without a defense and I don't see the Cowgirls getting it done either.

I don't think the Lions have ever had a defense. They also have a physical freak at WR and the QB with the perfect arm to use him.

I hope they do just so Packers fans stfu.

Dont leave the Eagles and Bears off that list they stocked up the last 2 years . I think that division will be a dog fight and a little luck amy come into play as to who wins it The lions are for real

As long as they don't implode. Schwartz is warped in the head. Really the only thing standing in their way.

(Chandler)'s a nice piece as long as he's the 7th most important player on your roster....I think they're going to be disappointed when they see he's just a pumped-up Drew Gooden.

They sure are built to compete over the next few years. RJF said it best, as long as Schwartz doesn't stand in their way.

Most of the pieces are there for the Lions, but they have to overcome their division first. The NFC North always seems to be competitive, with two or three teams fighting for playoff spots until the last weeks of the season. The Packers are still great, and the Bears' relatively mediocre roster usually overachieves thanks at least partially to their coaching staff (they imploded toward the middle of last season but for the most part have been good in recent years).
I would like to see the Lions succeed, though, if only because the franchise historically has been filled with so much suck.

Note to self: come up with clever, Jets-themed signature.

Yep Rogers is better than Stafford but keep in mind Stafford threw 40 TD's and could very well go off this year with even bigger numbers while the Packers defense absolutely sucked last year. I dont think this comes down to the QB's at all.

I thought they may have upgraded at Running back? - JAGvih Best is not a good back, 3.7 a pop, when the D is in Nickel 80% of the time. Plus the Safeties are play 20 yards from the line of scrimmage, because of Megatron.

He is. It's infuriating that boring, high cholesterol town gets yet another QB to be their god for the next decade.

Worse is that the concussions might make him retire earlier than expected.

Chan I have no doubt that Rogers is the best QB in the NFL, no doubt at all, but last year proved that sometimes even the best need their teammates to pick them up when they have a bad day. Rogers didnt play all that great in the playoffs and it was clear no one else on that team could step up (droped passes bad protection zero Defense) it also proves how much of an effect inactivity has on a red hot player and declining offensive line play late in the season almost got him killed. If that kind of play goes into this season it wont be all about Rogers it will be because the team is not what they were when they were a top 5 defense in the SB the year before. They did make some moves in the draft to solidify the defense so lets see how that goes.

It took a hail mary for them to lose the defending SB champs... And besides, winning a division title isn't about 1 day, it's about 16 days.. and over a larger sample, the better qb is going to win out. It's why the Jets haven't won a division the last 3 years despite being a better team then the Pats, except of course at qb

This. The Lions won't be winning their division any time soon and as Jets fans know all too well, when you can't win your division actually winning the conference becomes all that much more difficult and unlikely. While he's certainly not bad, I don't think Stafford is nearly as good as he's been credited over the past year or so, as most of the plays that get so often replayed and he praised for are a lot of times really, really dumb decisions offset by having one of the best WRs of all time saving his a$$.
TL;DR amirite?

Excuses are the tools of the incompetent.

Pretty much...but dont forget Chicago too. They've made some very nice additions and Cutler was balling before he got hurt and they actually have a defense.

The Pack should rule that division until Rodgers declines but that will be a very competitive division moving forward. Problem with the Lions is defense. Everyone here's the name Suh and just assumes he's this beastly immovable object, and its just not true. All their "stars" under perform. That defense is straight poop and isnt good enough to get them in the playoffs year after year IMO. I suspect them to miss the playoffs this year and the division will be between Chicago and the Pack with the loser getting the WC.
