Tyson Rauch (better known to JetNation.com readers as 4HCrew) has agreed to write a weekly editorial called "View from the Upper Deck". Tyson is our most emotional and enthusiastic columnist and we thank him. In the football offseason (it can't come soon enough for me), he will be writing about basketball, baseball, hockey...whatever is of interest.

Thanks again, Tyson.

p.s.: Now....about that article....wasn't it you, Tyson, who was trying to get me drunk in the parking lot so you could talk me into going to the strip club instead of the game?

4H-Awesome jobs.

My favorite articles are written from a first person perspective, and I appreciate yours. I will look forward to teh future reads.

What does one have to do to become a columnist here? Is there some type of written test?

You already passed the written test and we are enlisting your help TODAY. Your Chrebet piece was incredible! Read your PM.

Nice.

I like the comparison to waiting for that first pre-season game. I mean, we spend so much time waiting just to see a game, it seems like a such a mistake to miss any games, good, bad or just ugly.

Three more games to go to this year... hope we win them all.

He makes a fair point. Inr response, though, when you're in your teens and 20s and unattached and every weekend's a party, most guys will go no matter what. Just a question of where the next party will be.

Getting married, have a tyke or 2 running around and have your obligations take up more of your time every weekend, especially with Christmas approaching, and watching this debacle on the TV or listening on the radio makes much more sense than spending form 9AM until 7PM at a freezing cold stadium. If the Jets were competing for a playoff spot, it would be a different story; you would make time for it.

The Pats might still be a fun if cold night. I'll be very curious what attendance will be for the Bills game.

Good job as usual Tyson

I have to agree with AirforceJetfan Jet fans are not the most loyal to show up at games no matter the conditions. I think though it is also a reflection in comparison to Green Bay and their great fans though that in Wisconsin there are not anywhere near the other interests in competition as in New York/New Jersey area

As a whole, jet fans are not a very loyal bunch. People may not want to hear it but the numbers don't lie. When this team struggles, the stadium is a ghost town. :(

That's what happens when the stadium is in the middle of nowhere. If it's a hassle to go, then why bother going if the product is sub-standard? As a die-hard, I have been to all of the games so far, but I also don't feel inclined to freeze my ass off for the upcoming Monday night game and definitely not the Bills game on New Years Day, with nothing at stake. On the other hand, Lambeau Field was packed the other night wasn't it? It was something like 6 degrees too.

Stadiums don't make the fans, the fans make the stadiums.

Arizona will have a new stadium and it will be empty.

Packers could play in a parking lot and it would be sold out.

Jet fans need to figure out that what makes a great franchise is great fans.

The thing that most defines a great team is wins. Win some games and the fans will be there.

Everyone loves a winner.

Sad.

BZ

How is that sad? Of all people, Jets fans are certainly not front runners. We've had one Super Bowl in our history but we show up optimistic almost every single year. I've had season tickets since 1984 and have missed maybe 5 games in all that time. The vast majority of my investment in the tickets has been on a team that just hasn't won. This is not a one way street, I pay top dollar for tickets and I want and deserve entertainment value for my buck as do all Jets fans. I know for a fact that I will not show up to the Buffalo game though. I will be cold, tired and possibly hung over and I will not drag my ass out to see an inferior product under those conditions (I willl watch it on tv though). If we were in the hunt, I would be there if it was 10 below. There is nothing sad about wanting a winner, I have been waiting my entire life for a winner, that's what is sad.
