2004 Draft:

#1 - SF ( 2-11 )

#2 - MIA ( 6-8 )

#3 - CLE ( 4-9 )

So, three teams with top 3 picks and all with losing records this year.

That draft thing is powerful.

Patriots:

2004 - #32 - Ben watson - Winning the AFC East, Playoffs, HF

2003 - #13 - Ty Warren - Super Bowl

2002 - #21 - Daniel Graham - Super Bowl

2001 - #5 - Richard Seymore - Nada

2000 - #46 - Super Bowl

Looks to me like the lower the pick the better the chance of winning the Super Bowl. :)

Ahh, so it is not about the Draft now but 'brains', glad we cleared that up.

How many high first rounders has SF, HOU, ARZ gotten in the last few years? How are they doing?

The only recent first pick that is doing anything is Carson Palmer but if you look at his cast they are from the second round (Chad Johnson), 4th round (Rudi Johnson).

The only thing that is goofy is hoping your team will lose out so you can get a higher round pick when it is clear that that really doesn't make championship teams.

hey miniTurd:

I said NE has brains,,

And its not goofy to want a loss, when u r rooting for future years,,

its your right to root for meaningless wins now,,

but there is just as much logic in the other scenario..

meaningless wins in december only give management reasons to keep inept coaches/front ofice staff..

It is not logical to want to lose games so you can get something that may not help you win games.

How about this.

Winning games also helps you win games.

Think about it.

Show me the 50% success rate of the draft.

A team that losses out, the gives up, the losses its drive, its will is worthless the next year, or at least the start of the next year.

How about this:

If I said that lossing these three games meant we would lose the first three games next year and winning these three games meant we would win the first three games next year.

Just as much proof to that as there is to the high draft picks making a better team.
