What are the chances???

What are the chances that Rex and Sporano have an entirely new offense planned for the Pats? Something that was devised specifically with the NE in mind that we haven't seen yet. Like a tebow, Green, two tight end smash mouth, ball control kinda thing? Let them know we are running it and just smash them in the face, 4-5 yds a clip type of offense. Hill is also a solid run blocker as well. What he brings is a good blocking as well as being exceptionally fast for the quick strike bomb once they are lining up to stop the run.

Is it delusional to even hope this is realistic?

This is a great thought. It makes a ton of sense. Im not feeling good about this matchup ( while the pats are on offense anyway) So the best way is to stay on offense as much as possible. I would not be suprised to see something very different than we have seen so far.

I'd say there's a good chance of that, absolutely. Sanchez actually hinted at that possibility after the Colts game.

I don't think it's delusional to think that. Not at all. They certainly have something up their sleeve, possibly even a whole bunch of tricks. Whether or not they will work, that's the question. I'm not sure that it will involve ground and pound, necessarily. The Pats are so weak against the pass, it would really help to go after their weakness.

You might still see Tebow, though. How about using Tebow as a halfback? 1. Tebow takes the handoff. 2. Tebow blocks for a Sanchez pass. 3. Tebow runs a halfback option. 4. Flea flicker. 5. Sanchez runs play action off of Tebow.

I don't think Tebow is the best choice to beat this defense, because he emphasizes the running game. On the other hand, they have an untalented secondary that is clearly pressing, so trickery might be just what the doctor ordered. Let them get so focused on performing their generic assignments that they can't react to surprises. I think everyone expected Tebow to be used more on offense, but they've kept him off the field on more than 90% of plays. Surely they have been working on more than just special teams with him. So maybe the plan was to unleash him in this type of game. Because at this point, you've convinced the league that Tebow's role is primarily just a punt fake specialist, so maybe you catch them by surprise by pulling out a few wrinkles here.

How about putting both Mark and Tebow on the field at the same time in hurry up?

That would really confuse the Hatriots.

I keep hearing people say: "You can't have both Sanchez and Tebow on the field at the same time. You can't split Sanchez out, because that makes him vulnerable. He could get injured."

To which I say, "...and?"

A couple of new wrinkles immediately come to mind:

1 - Use Cromartie at wr, see him beat cb deep, watch Sanchez throw it out of bounds over Cro's head

2 - During a successful late game drive change personnel so often that the offense gets confused and burns 2 TO's to avoid delay of game penalties

Exactly. I agree with you that the Pats weak secondary being forced to think all day would play to our benefit. I would absolutely love to see the Jets come out in a hurry up with Tebow and Sanchez on the field at the same time and snap to one or the other on different plays. I am leaning towards believing that they have been working on the Tebow wrinkles all season long in preparations for this game against the monster of our division. Lulling the world to sleep on the Tebow piece all season is a nice thought as well.

The Jets showed that they are most certainly willing to pull out the tricks in the Houston game and the Colts game. When was the last time we saw two fake punts in two consecutive weeks? Couple that with a surprise onsides kick.

The Jets have the balls to do it and I hope it's this week.

The idea of a Sanchez handoff to Tebow for a flea flicker is a nice thought too. :D

sparano is a earhardt/perkins guy

run/run/take a deep shot

maybe we can get behing that crappy secondary and finally have a 50 yard TD to hill ?

I don't think you'll see a no huddle or run and shoot or anything like that

I heard Sparano ran a run and shoot offense in some small Conneticut college.

Heck, as long as we're at it. Let's roll with this whole Sanchez and Tebow thing...

You keep Sanchez and Tebow on the field for an entire possession. Just keep 'em both in the whole time.

Do all of the stuff we just said. Then when that gets old, let's start getting even crazier. Let's have Sanchez line up under center with Tebow split right as a receiver. Then, when the Patriots defense is set, Sanchez audibles. Tebow moves under center and Sanchez moves to halfback, flanking Tebow to the left. Tebow takes the snap, tosses it to Sanchez and Sanchez throws a halfback pass.

Ok, now Tebow lines up as a receiver with Kerley, Schilens and Hill, and Keller at TE. Run a reverse to Tebow, then he passes.

Now fake the reverse to Tebow, and have Sanchez throw the ball.

Now fake the reverse to Tebow, and give the double reverse to Kerley.

Why? BECAUSE **** IT, THAT'S WHY! If 97% of NFL fans think we're going to lose, if it's really that bad then who cares? And hey, if we do lose, at least we'll be entertaining while doing it.

Make it so that other teams have no idea what the hell we're going to do on any given play. Is Sanchez the QB? Is Tebow? Maybe Kerley? Which QB is the decoy QB today? Who knows?

We're already freakin inventing positions that don't exist. We already have a fake punt specialist. FP - that's a new position. We already have a shut down cornerback/wide receiver/kick returner. CWK - that's a new one. Who cares anymore? If there's some way we can get robots on the team, I say we do that too. Bottom line - beat the &*%* PATRIOTS at all costs.

It has nothing to do with injury. Unless we're planning on running a series of variations on that play where Tebow goes out for a pass that bounces off his helmet, putting them on the field at the same time means we're playing 10-on-11. Not to mention the fact that we can't get the play and personnel in on time when one of them is in the game.

I'm speaking specifically with regard to the injury fear. Just joking about it. Some have been concerned that since he won't be protected by the QB babying rules, that he'll get hurt. I'm not really concerned because, let's face it, what is the drop off from Sanchez to Tebow or Sanchez to McElroy?

The 10 on 11 is a separate matter. I didn't mean to address that with that post. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

It's a valid concern, for sure. You have to evaluate what it gives you vs. what it takes away. I only really consider it 10 on 11 when one player is useless to the entire play from the start. So, for example, when Tebow is taking the snap but Sanchez is out wide, he's useless and the defense knows it = 10 on 11. May still be useful in certain circumstances. But in almost any other situation, it's not 10 on 11 - at least no more than usual. Example: Tebow takes handoff, Sanchez runs PA off Tebow, Tebow blocks, etc.

Since thats what good coaches do, I certainly dont expect it. Our players and coaches are too dumb to be creative in 1 week.

Sanchez and Tebow on the field at the same time is only useless if we make it useless. If you have a situation where Sanchez and Tebow are running some form of a flea flicker it makes sense. Also, Sanchez claimed on Hard Knocks he has the best hands on the team. Maybe throw it to him? If he gets knocked the f*** out.......oh well?
