Possible scenarios:

1. Tannenbaum is fired (or demoted) and an experienced personnel executive is hired to serve in a football czar-type role. This sounds great, but why would someone like Bill Polian want to work for someone like Woody Johnson?

2. Tannenbaum is fired (or demoted) and a promising young scout is hired as GM. This sounds great, but why would someone like Eric DeCosta want to work for someone like Woody Johnson?

3. Tannenbaum is fired (or demoted) and the Jets are forced to settle for a second-rate career scout. Phil Emery 2.0.

Oh, and of course:

4. Tannenbaum is retained. This is most likely, only because the universe enjoys nothing more than kicking Jets fans in the sack.

These choices, in order of likelihood, are #4 (remember: sack-kicking!), #3, #1 (though we'd certainly hire some dipsh*t like Mike Holmgren), #2. In other words, we're pretty well buggered.

BB ran away from Parcells, not Woody. He was hired as HC in NE before he was HC of the NYJ. Then Tuna stepped down as HC, which contractually made BB the HC after he'd already secured a deal with NE. But Tuna still stayed on as GM, still to be BB's boss right after he scuttled his HC job which paid millions more and miles away from Tuna's shadow.

Why did Parcells leave? He left because it's what he does. He is always leaving. Ask Tampa. He left before he even got there.

As for Brady, things might have been much different if they knew there was a job to be had in preseason. There is a big difference between being handed a job mid-season with no other choice and dealing with a true competition in camp. Sure he probably would have excelled anyway, but there are no guarantees.

Disagree. Brady made the most of the chance he was given. Nothing suggest he would have been given a chance if Bledsoe never went down. He may have gotten traded. No way to know. What we do know is Mo Lewis hammered Bledsoe and Brady got a shot. Feel free to make sh*t up if it feels good.
