PatriotReign37
Please. Reeves was a hell a of HC. What? 1 of 4 HC's to take 2 different teams to a SB, one being the Falcons led by Chris Chandler? They just met some all time great teams in those SB's and Elway was still a baby for the most part when he was in Denver. QB's >>>> HC's - your team is the perfect example. BB is nothing without Tom Brady. Reeves was a hack who got his nut sack kicked in the Super Bowl by... Elway FTW. Shanny put Elway in that bootleg offense that was perfect for him. HCs = QBs Your team is the prefect example putting Sanchez in an antiquated offense.

bitonti
going back to the draft, Elway was a once in a generation type prospect. Like Peyton or Luck. Sanchez wasn't even close to that level of prospect. In fact, looking at Sanchez' career, I am not sure exactly what he did that was so great. At the time it was supposedly his accuracy. We have seen how that's worked out.

If I had to play one game and pick between those two guys, I'm taking Elway every time.

Integrity28
Elway had one more win than Marino. Where... in the playoffs? Superbowl? LOL I guess at the end of the day, none of these guys play the sport for championships... just stat compiling. Like I said, I don't even put Elway in the same class as a pure QB as Marino... but you are well beyond absurd at this point. sh*t, you started off comparing the guy to Sanchez. C'mon man!!!! COME ON!!!

COME ON!!! I never compared Elway to Sanchez. I said he was putting up Sanchez like numbers early in his career. Elway won two Super Bowls in the twilight of his career on absolutely loaded teams. And the teams he went to the Super Bowl on in the 80's were 15th, 7th and 1st in overall defense.

Stonehands
I think a head coach matters, but you don't need to have the same skill set as a coordinator. A good head coach is somewhat removed from the players and spends his time managing the coordinators and making sure they are doing what needs to be done. They are in a quality control type of role overseeing all operations. A coordinator needs to be hands on and understanding the strengths and weaknesses of everyone in his area and reporting to the coach. That is why you see so many new head coaches struggle off the bat because they try to use the same approach they had as a position coach or a coordinator as the head guy. I like what Tampa did with Greg Schiano, bring in someone with previous head coaching experience at some level who knows how to run a program instead of trying to ram a square peg into a round hole. Just because you are a good chef does not make you a great restaurant owner.
