Woody Johnson is in McElroy’s corner

The Jets leaked the info. That's the point. They want this aspect of the story out there. Integrity's take is highly plausible.

Ha

That's as plausible as Manish making it up. Funny you complain about people questioning the presses motives, but then are ready to jump the conspiracy of the evil empire. I suppose he is supporting McElroy to sell PSLs?

The fact is, it is not a legit quote or press release so it should be taken with a grain of salt. In either direction.

Whoever backs Sanchez as the starter for Sunday needs to be fired. McElroy needs to be given a chance. The Jets organization should know by now what they have in Sanchez. Time to move on.

It's much more about recognizing the reality of how awful Sanchez is and moving on from him than giving McElroy a chance. He isn't the long term franchise QB.

Give you an idea what a real NFL owner does. That's Jon Tisch, one half of one half of Giants' ownership on the left. That's my mom on the right. Last Saturday while we were excavating the ruins of her home(and found some stuff and jewelry, including the engagement ring she is wearing ), Mr. Tisch was walking around Rockaway doing charity work supporting Sandy victims, and I assume checking out how the Giants Sandy relief monies were being spent.

My mom couldn't care less about football. She is smiling because she got her ring back. And it is a pretty cool picture to us.

Mr. Tisch did not express any opinion about his team spare he hoped they would beat the Skins. Mr. Tisch was also born to great wealth, yet he seemed from this admittedly small sample to conduct himself with dignity and grace. Perhaps our owner could take a hint. Hire good people-and take a giant step back already.

As long as Woody owns the Jets this figures to be as close as I ever get to a Super Bowl ring.

Woody Johnson is in McElroy’s corner, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. The Jets owner was thought to be a staunch Tebow supporter, though there is some question about the wildcaticon1.png specialist’s health as he recovers from two cracked ribs.

“I’m told owner Woody Johnson prefers Greg McElroy to be starting QB,” Mehta tweeted Tuesday. “GM Mike Tannenbaum & OC Tony Sparano prefer Mark Sanchez this week.”

So who are the diots?

Tanny is vested in Sanchez, Sparano is simply an idiot.

This is like a game of pass the hot potato in the Jet organization. Each of them are going to keep passing the decision making responsibility publicly to someone else. so no one really knows where the decision rests, and they feel there will be no culpability to pass judgment on.

It's unfortunate that we can't fire an owner, but Tanny and Rex need to be gone.

"Flip a damn coin already!" amirght?

Conspiracy of the evil empire? LOL. I'm talking about how sports teams work. This isn't unique to the Jets. The Knicks, Yanks, Mets, and Giants all leak info to the media that they want to get out there. If fact, some teams have leaked info on person because one person in an organization wants to damage another. This is the way sports teams are run, especially in the NYC metro area.

So, no, my point is not as "plausible" as Mehta making it up. There is a long history here of the Jets in particular, and sports team in general who work as such.

It's come to the point that the turning point for this franchise might have been when Tagliabue had the Hess estate take Johnson's bid over that of the Dolan gang.

I almost cannot believe I'm writing that sentence. And it's true. Why is any owner involved in who starts at QB?

Are you suggesting we'd be better off with the Dolans running the show?

Right. That is how sports teams work. Please explain to me how the media works. The media is 100% ethical and doesn't twist anything or imply that sources are something they are not. For instance the "I am told" in Mehta's piece. Who told him? Woody? Tannenbaum? The janitor? Could have been ****ing Mad Mike for all we know.

I'm all for McElroy starting but honestly how many plays does he have under his command at this point? He was on the IR all of last year and hasn't been taking many snaps in practice.

With the Dolan's you know they will spend the money-lots of other faults though

Woody has spent the money, too.

The NFL has become such a QB oriented league that you either need a franchise QB or a HC that has a very tight grip on the offense. A guy like Harbaugh (either one) can make due w/o a franchise QB, everyone else is sunk without one.

I'm told the Jets have the best roster since Rex has been here, doesn't make it true!

This is a Hack report if I ever seen one, something I would expect from Cimini.

He should be fine. He won a championship at Bama handing off, so we know he can do that, and he showed in the game last week that he has the cannon to execute all of the 5 yard pass plays that we have in the play book.
