Exactly, Tanny was never hired to be a traditional GM, he was hired to let the HC pick the groceries.

Unfortunately, our HC cannot pick the groceries, nor can he do anything other than devise half way decent defensive game plans, at least against dog sh*t offenses he can.

Scary that we really don't know who makes the final draft decisions for the Jets. Bradway? Tannenbaum? Rex? Do the alternate? Who really knows?Every GM cobsults with the coach and the chief scout. There are other GMs who are bad at their jobs, but with almost every other NFL team the GM or the HC like Bellicheat (after Ernie Adams or someone else tells him who to pick)make the decision.
