Lil Bit Special
http://www.nj.com/je...ral_manage.html The Jets' search for a new general manager may already be under way.According to a CBS Sports report, the organization has begun to reach out to potential candidates across the NFL for its GM position, citing league sources. However, Mike Tannenbaum may still be part of the future. The report says owner Woody Johnson is looking for someone to run the personnel decisions, while keeping Tannenbaum on to manage the salary cap and negotiate contracts. Houston's director of college scouting, Mike Maccagnan, was the only person named. That partnership may not be palatable for some potential candidates. "That's totally ridiculous," one league executive said in the report. "Only the Jets." The report also said that it may come to be that Johnson ultimately will have to fully part ways with Tannenbaum to land the most attractive candidate. JetsFanInDenver
Tanny did such a good job with the contracts he handed out to holmes, Harris and the contract extension to Sanchez that Woody wants him to be around for negotiating contracts. unbanmadmike1
Oh so lets bring in a GM, except he can't do half of what a GM's job is because the old GM has to hang around! **** YOU WOODY. What a clueless ****ing moron. Is there any wonder this team is an utter and complete national laughingstock?
Lil Bit Special
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/jason-la-canfora/21449699/jets-explore-potential-gms-look-to-keep-tannenbaum-in-cap-job As expected, candidates have significant issues with the parameters, sources said. Tannenbaum has created many of the Jets issues with bloated contracts given to players likeMark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes, to name two, coupled with cap mismanagement that has left New York in a difficult plight heading into 2013. Furthermore, Tannenbaum has shared a very close relationship with Johnson, which naturally would be a red flag for someone joining the Jets from the outside. SpartanJet
They already did this with Terry Bradway and it worked so well, why not do it again amirite? That Sanchez extension alone is all the argument you need against keeping the bean counter around unless its to sell hot dogs. Woody needs to stop being cheap and realize HE screwed up extending Trader Mike and cut his losses.

But no, seriously, you guys, the Jets are viewed as a first class organization around the league and Woody Johnson has surreal amounts of credibility in league circles. Pac
yeah... that's pretty stupid. finding it increasingly difficult to defend the FO. Extending Sanchez, the Holmes contract, inviting the Tebow drama, and innumerable roster moves akin to a fantasy football team can't be excused. Cut bait with Tanny and let a qualified GM make the call on Rex. Enough already.

Bradway is probably in line to become VP/Chief Top Secret Super Scouting Director. The problem is clearly Woody Johnson. He's a spoiled brat who has a lot of money but has no idsea how to really run anything. Sometimes with abject failure like this sheetshow you have to fire people. He presides over Florham Clown College. Serious people are not going to damage their reputations by going there. Get the sense it's why Pettine is in no rush to stay. Keepiing Tannenbaum and Bradway sert up the new guy as the next fall guy. Gives these morons another body to fling into the fire when 2 years from now the team is still in the toilet. No lets get a real GM and let him decide what to do with Rex. No side deals, no keeping people around, none of this bull that hasn't worked before (Terry Bradway). Give the GM the power to clean up this filth by allowing him complete control.

Bugg
Bradway is good in his current position. I've read reports of him lobbying hard for players but ultimately being overruled by Tanny. Russell Wilson is one example. So perhaps the football guy was overruled by the accountant on draft day. But this is a problem because it means there is nobody accountable. Every draft day decision has built in plausbile deniability. Again the Jets' organizational chart is a total circle jerk.

Truly a bunch of idiots being ruled by an MBA-carrying douche who thinks he can just reassign problem employees down the food chain. An NFL front office is not a widget factory on the personnel side. It's a monarchy where success or failure is measured in four year blocks of time, so heads have to roll quickly when necessary.

SouthernJet
we wont get a premium candidate if Tannebaum allowed to stay. At a minimum, Tanny would have to report to the new GM and not have a dotted line with new GM to Woody.

If he doesn't he will be looking atr a very empty stadium next season. The franchise has to have a single voice. All these people, like the Bradway "leak" or the Tebow mess, could've been avoided if there was one voice and one story. Instead he's setting himself up for more nonsense and leaks. Bringing back this ship of fools is a recipre for disaster.
Matt39
I don't think their roster is all that talented... Maybe not...but Seattle actually had this novel idea of building a stadium and concentrating on the fans and home field. We play in a giant air conditioner that's identical to the old stadium.
