doesn't the tampa owner love tanny ?

he may bolt

we can hope

Tannenbaum was going to follow Parcells to Tampa. Then Parcells turned the job down because his divorce wasn't finalized yet and he therefore would have had to pay his wife half his head coaching salary since (under the law) she would have been 50% responsible for his new job or something. Any divorce lawyers are welcome to correct me but it was something like that. So he declined the job last minute and joined the Dolphins after his divorce was over.

Anyway, that was Tampa's interest in Tannenbaum as I recall it.

Don't do divorce law any more. Best I can tell, cut out the details and the middle men-find a woman you cannot stand and buy her a house.

Spoke with Ira from Staten Island. He told us that player personnel's Scott Cohen is a candidate for interim GM in 2013, but that Tannenbaum will be reassigned to another area, possibly a cap specialist.

Is this the same guy who wrote this bleacher report?

I'm hoping this report is just a trial balloon, and that it's since popped. Retaining Tannenbaum in any capacity is a terrible idea. If Johnson loves him so much, he can put him to work screwing up his charity organization.

yes, that is basically the way it legally played out. he rejected a job to keep some cash away from the ex, LOL

No lets get a real GM and let him decide what to do with Rex. No side deals, no keeping people around, none of this bull that hasn't worked before (Terry Bradway). Give the GM the power to clean up this filth by allowing him complete control.

Thats how it should work. The new GM should have the final say.

And what, exactly, does some scounting director for Seattle have to do with this?

Well, Mr Smart guy if you actually read the context of the post you'd realize I was insinuating the lack of talent on the roster is helped out by the best home field advantage in sports.

Russell Wilson threw 2 TD's en route to a win @ Chicago three weeks ago. Sure, homefield advantage is great, but don't you think its also a product of really good play by the team? The fans wouldn't be so incredibly loud if the team wasn't raping teams left and right.

That homefield has been awesome way before Russel Wilson.

Jets screwed up royally with the new stadium. Its a boring eyesore. It's just the difference between an organization that's 100% about football vs one that isnt.

Dont worry... the next owner will build a new stadium in about 20 years when they need a new one with all the latest bells and whistles.

So beyond Hansel Houston being so hot right now, what specifically should I love about Maccagnan? What attributes about the players they have drafted recently stand out? What kind of coaches could we expect?

Just curious because "clean house and start over" sounds as much more of the same to me as anything else....The Jets clean house and call rebuild (no this time call it reTOOL!) with new direction and not that old direction is not

some magic new strategy for the franchise, but I am willing to keep an open mind on everything.

I hate the new stadium. But if the Jets were hosting a playoff game or 2 every year and winning 12-14 games like clockwork, I'd be a lot less bothered about road access, crowded concourses and dangeroud entrance and exit points. Winning solves a lot of problems. The entire tlme the Jeta have been in NJ they have hosted very few playoff games; the Pats in 1985(loss); the Chiefs in 1986(win, followed by debacle in Cleveland); 1998-99 they actually had a bye and beat the Jags; lucky AFCE title in 2002 beating Indy. Rex Ryan has never had a home playoff game. The Pats have been stealing our lunch money since the day Mo Lewis knocked Bledsoe on his internal organs. It continues to be an embarrassment.

As to the stadium-know the Jints high command made a visit to the JerryDome and came home furious about what a dull ugly place MetLife is comparatively, and wondering WTF the builders spent a billion on.

The new stadium sucks. Not that it would have mattered, but we've rarely had a home field advantage. The old stadium was noisier, but even then it was Giants stadium. The Packers game in 2002 and the Patriots game in 09 were the two games off the top that actually felt like we had a home field advantage.

Thew new stadium offers nothing. Big, overpriced, and boring.

So I guess the Giants screwed up royally with the new stadium too and aren't 100% about football since they also signed on the dotted line to build the new stadium.

Sure they did. They did mess up, but they at least have the benefit of the doubt. They were coming off a Super Bowl. We're the little brother for a reason.

There isnt a Giants fan I know that actually likes the new stadium.

Yeah but what if Maccagnan turns out to be worse than Tannenbaum?

Sure, there is a chance he could fail but I would much rather take a shot on someone who has a football background when it comes to personnel decisions rather than continue with the accountant.
