what in his history leads you to believe he'd ever even consider this?

he's never been hurt like this before. He got 13 game checks for nothing last year. these negotiations are a brave new world. Also he's only dealt with Tanny and that relationship is toxic. there are reasons to believe the future of Revis' contract talks might be different from the past.

See that putrid roster we have today? That's Rex. That's Rex's creation. I'm not so sure Blackout couldn't build a better roster in four years. Rex=Gato.

While some of this may be true, there is far more evidence to suggest that he won't budge on his demands than will. Revis held out his rookie year, prior to any previous negotiations with Tanny; he and his agents are all about getting top dollar, regardless of whether it's market value or cap-killing. This move would be much worse if he were the face of the franchise, but he's a silent leader, which I'm not undermining as that's needed in the lockerroom, but trading him is different than trading LT in his Diego days or Fitzy in 'Zona. I'm with Slats, be honest about wanting to keep him but at a price that is good for the team; if he agrees to a deal that works for both great, if not, let him test the waters and work out a trade that benefits both. No need to burn bridges as it's just business for both sides.

Pretty sure we've come to the conclusion that Blackout was in fact Tanny; he used this site to float rumors to the masses and gauge the reactions. Ever notice how he doesn't discus football topics as much anymore and just trolls the other sports forums?? He's an unemployed GM that wants as far away from football as possible.

Now that you mention it, the similarity is striking.

I'm sure Rex would prefer maybe smaller, certainly prettier, daintier feet.

the ship was 8-8 with the worst offense in the NFL last year

we just need to draft on offense or trade REvis for a great WR

maybe a 2. what they paid for him. More likely that happens than the multiple first hershal walker type package it would take for Revis

In the case you trade Cro and Revis comes back at a lower level than he used to play at, you're kind of screwed. And if you keep Revis and he excels then his paycheck goes up with Kyle Wilson as the next best option.

I see your point, but Im interested less in HOF'ers and more into championships. I would be in the favor of keeping Revis given that I was totally in support of his holdout etc. However the Jets spreaded too much money spread over too little amount of players and much of it is guaranteed and they are in a financial hole that they must dig themselves out of in order to compete for a championship. It doesnt matter what their history of picks are, because the DID draft the future HOF'er Revis right????

This is about doing whats best for the team and right now Revis must be traded along with Sanchez being gone after the end of this season. My opinion though.

yes I see your position here, but I am not saying I am more interested in having a hall of famer over a super bowl. But on that same note, I feel this future HOF'er can help us get closer to a super bowl win then the two draft picks we will get for him will....whether those draft picks are botched or not. And I could be wrong and I'm fine with that but I don't think I am..

This team rode Revis to two AFC Championships with Mark Sanchez at QB. Has anyone tried that one yet? I want to think I'm on the edge.
