Trade him after the draft and we are getting 2014 picks.  That's a fairly steep discount right there.

Yeah, but in the long run it might be a good idea.  If the Jets are going to make a move for a QB, they will need some fire power.

I just want all these people ranting about it to be aware that the 1st or 2nd we get next year only equates (basically) to a 2nd or 3rd next.  Even worse, any team making that move in season is a contender that will be picking at the bottom of the round.

This is true, but if he finishes the year as a Jet, I think he’s gone with nothing back.

I think someone is going to give him his 16-17 million.  I don’t think it is going to be the Jets

I don't see Idzik rolling dice here. If he gets Revis to re-up with new deal thats great and priority 1. But, if they cant agree on new deal soon, then I highly doubt Idzik will 'take a chance' Revis will re-sign w/Jets after 2013 season when he is free agent. He will trade him, even if a down market, as opposed ot getting nothing at end of 2013 season.

Jets 'may' explore offering a small extension (1 added year to make him FA after 2014 season) but who knows for sure.

Based on these transcripts, Idzik sounds like a professional.  He measures his words precisely. Rex sounds like a buffoon.

I don't see Revis getting traded before the season.  I don't see him getting an extension before the season (I wish that one would happen though).  So it looks like this story isn't going anywhere.

Jets have to either sign him to an extension or trade him, sooner rather than later, or they're looking at losing him for the 100th pick (or so) of the 2015 draft. That's the worst case scenario, IMHO.

I'm sure they're listening to every offer very intently.

revis is to blame he wants a huge contract that will leave theD with no one to get excited about. i see teams win the SB without a CB like revis i love for us to keep him but at 15 or16 mill thats way too much, it will kill our cap. This team has way too many holes to fill.

I saw two teams play the SB without a QB like Brady or Manning or Manning or Rodgers. Therefore QBs dont matter. Brining the Science to JN for 5+ years.

its the same thing either way. Denver picks at 25. no non-contender is gonna trade/sign Revis. for all the reasons that you don't want to re-sign Revis. It's gonna be a late first at best, whenever they trade him.

Just watching the news today shows me the difference between a great team player and someone like Mevi$.  Brady who has done more and plays a position infinitely more important than a CB (Its so easy for teams to defeat the "locking down" one side of the field with the use of multiple receivers and tight ends since the Jets have no pass rush) signs a contract extension 3yr/27mil.  I realize they are at different points in their career but Brady has always understood that its a team game and did not try and take the cheats for every dime he could.  Someone like mevi$ is out for himself and doesn't care about anything other than getting the utmost respect (where in his world $$$$$=respect).

You realize they are at different points in their careers yet that post happened anyway.

That post happened because if It were Mevi$ in Brady's shoes he would be asking for what 21mil since Flacco wants 20 a year otherwise he couldn't feed his family and it would be an insult to not be the highest paid QB.  Thats why the post happened.  If Mevi$ really wanted to be a Jet he would take less money,

A 27 year old elite QB (Revis in Brady's place) would not be crazy to ask for 21 million.
