First wave of 2013 NFL win totals hit the board

Last Friday evening we were alerted to the fact that it is now possible to wager
on any 2013 NFL game that takes place from Week 1 through Week 16. One
week after the appetizers were brought out to our table, the main course
has arrived.

On Thursday, the Atlantis sports book in Reno, Nevada became the first
shop in the business to post NFL season win totals for the 2013 season.
We’ll be diving into these numbers more thoroughly in the coming months,
but for now, here’s the complete list along with a few of our early
leans. Below you’ll notice the 2013 totals posted by the Atlantis, along
with the 2012 opening season win totals listed by Cantor Gaming in Las
Vegas for a comparison.

    EARLY LEANS

OVER New Orleans Saints 9.5 (-115):
The Saints won 11 or more games in each season under head coach Sean
Payton from 2009-2011 before posting a pedestrian 7-9 campaign in 2012.
Payton’s back from suspension this season while Rob Ryan should find
some success overhauling one of the worst defensive units in NFL
history. Oh yeah, and Drew Brees is once again under center for the Who
Dats.

UNDER New York Jets 7 (-110):
They’re a mess and need to go 8-8 for this bet to lose. I’m going to
use the money from this winning ticket to fund my next golf trip to
Bandon Dunes.

    OVER Carolina Panthers 6.5 (-130):
Last year’s 7-9 campaign was considered by many to be a big
disappointment, but keep in mind that Cam Newton and company closed the
show by winning five of their final six games.

Big thanks to our good friend David Purdum of The Sporting News for the heads up on these totals.

They've probably got five division wins guaranteed before they take a snap this year. Dicey bet. Same reason Broncos are at 12.

im thinking 10 wins. The .5 gives me a lot of confidence. I don't think they've really improved themselves much with Brady another year older. I'm gonna bank on Gronk and Amendola missing sone key games and not resigning Welker coming back to bite. Out of all the teAms I think i like this bet the best.
