Jetfan13
So all the players and all coaches have to have upside in order for Rex to be successful? This is great stop looking so deeply into everything, simple comeback to Shane
Matt39
Wait. So Walls has been our best CB this year? You don't say.... Should just award Teo rookie of the year too
Green DNA
also keep in mind that the Jets didn't have to pay Revis 16 mil. He had 1 year on his deal they could have let him play it out. That was the outcome I wanted, if we go back and search about it. Everyone said "Oh but he'll walk for nothing" they got Dee Milliner is he better than nothing? The jury is still out. they could have easily taken Sheldon at 9 and kept Revis for a year and see what happens. another thing to note is that trading Revis accelerated 13 mil on the cap of dead space, which guarunteed the Jets wouldn't have cap room. they chose to be cap strapped this offseason it was not required to be cap strapped. How many good players does 13 mil buy? Play it out? Of course there was no chance of Revis holding out or anything, right?
CrazyCarl40
Should just award Teo rookie of the year too Huh? Sheldon is probably the defensive rookie of the year. This has nothing to do with Notre Dame, but more to do with a previous debate about which CB was playing the best on the team, which you probably weren't a part of so you wouldn't know what you're talking about. Walls has been ok. Defensive rookie of the year is probably Sheldon or Alonso...who was drafted after Te'o.
T0mShane
Still plenty of time for Tommy Rees to get back into that Heisman conversation, though.
Matt39
Still plenty of time for Tommy Rees to get back into that Heisman conversation, though. Evaluating NFL players is much easier when you dont have a dog in the race on Saturdays.
HessStation
so just to review Revis 25th Walls 67th Wilson 90th Dee 101st Cro 102nd out of 103 CBs What a great trade. The net value back from that trade is still left to be seen so how would know? Let's see how the Jets spend the incremental 14M saved in cap next year before we determine whether it was a good trade. Unless you think that with Revis the Jets were Super Bowl contenders this year. There's also another draft pick involved and according to you, Milliner is not a bust. Big Blocker
Play it out? Of course there was no chance of Revis holding out or anything, right? I would merely point out since the Jets did not even try to sign Revis to another contract, no one knows what he might have signed for. so the $16 mil figure TB is paying on a non-guaranteed contract is not necessarily what the Jets might have gotten in a deal. At least football players today care enough about tests in school to bother cheating on them.
