New York Mick
Flacco or Cutler? Nope. Both are hugely overrated. Chicago is never going to make the SB with Cutler unless he has a defense and running game like Flacco did when he won.
ozzieny
That video was taken from a college all-star game. And as has been mentioned before, not every big-time QB has come from a big-time program. Kaep, Roethlisberger, Flacco, etc. Kaep Rothlisberger Flacco yea those guys suck! Throw in Simms, John Unitas and Terry Bradshaw, played for unfamiliar if not obscure college teams--at Morehead State, Louisville and Louisiana Tech, respectively, Ron Jaworski, Ken O'Brien, Neil Lomax, Why are there so many small-college quarterbacks? Veteran football coaches and scouts say this: --Young passers are uniquely difficult to analyze. The Dallas Cowboys say their computers are almost worthless in evaluating quarterbacks. --What puzzles scouts and computers alike is, first, that it takes more than talent to play this position well, and, second, that the required intangibles are hard to quantify. Of these intangibles, NFL coaches say that self-confidence is as important to quarterbacks as their talent. They say that toughness--mental and physical--is at least as important as either talent or confidence. And they say that opportunity is the other critical factor--the opportunity to start and continue to play. The consensus is that each of those factors--talent, confidence, toughness, and opportunity--is about 25% of what it takes to become an NFL quarterback. Or as former quarterback Pat Haden said: "Hundreds of people walking the streets today have NFL arms. You see them throwing beautiful passes at the beach, at playgrounds, at office picnics. But only a tiny handful of them have the mental toughness and the other things it takes to be a quarterback."

Wow .....Lets see if the Ravens or Bears trade Eugene for either of these guys - we'll even throw in a few draft picks and see what they say. I think you know the answer. Both of these QB's just signed multi year lucrative contracts. And NO team is going to win without a defense or running game.

#27TheDominator
people forget that Jay Cutler and Joe Flacco were considered 3rd rounders until after the senior bowl. Jimmy G is on this same path... The ball just doesn't seem to move fast enough for the 1st round. I believe a guy like this can have success in the league, but from those clips I'm not completely sold. Quick release might be a real good fit with Mornhinweg though. If it did, guys like Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell wouldn't have ended up monumental busts.

The Crusher
He shows himself in more ways than one. They did show him distraught and about to have an emotional breakdown at the draft - he looked like he was going to cry - then like a lil biatch he was going to leave the draft altogether. Too bad he didn't leave. he probably wouldn't have been drafted at all. Talk about being disrespectful to the game. Just shows he is classless and self-centered. And throughout the entire season I didn't hear him say one thing of any substance. All he would say after each game is "I gotta get better". He has the personality of a prima donna. These are the things I see and these are the things he shows: urban dictionary Prima Donna 01: a person that's considered vain, temperamental and/or conceited. A true prima donna is a diva. A prima donna wanna-be can be very prideful for example.] diva female version of a hustler. a true diva will do anything to get what she wants. douche a word to describe an individual who has shown themself to be very brainless in one way or another, thus comparing them to the cleansing product for vaginas. He lacks leadership, integrity, humility, common sense or responsibility. But who needs that to be a QB right? Other than that he's da sh*t! So your accusing Geno of being a female with poor feminine hygiene and a bad temper?
#27TheDominator
chad pennington was a mid first round pick And? I might not have taken him. bitonti
Meh, quick draw to mediocrity. just to be clear, im not recommending the Jets take Jimmy G. What Im predicting is someone will draft him long before Idzik would consider him value. late 1/early 2 area. Idzik would consider him value probably where you value him, rd3/4. ozzieny
Geno will never be more than an average quarterback and you don't win super bowls with an average quarterback. Jets need to keep drafting QB's till they find their franchise QB. Jimmy looks like a nice QB and I would take him round 2 for sure if he us there. Trading back from 18 and picking up another pick to get Jimmy is also a good option. Maybe throw in Geno for a bag of balls too. You can win with an average QB. Dilfer was an average QB and won with the Ravens. Problem is Eugene is not even an average QB. He just plain sucks and is the type who will try to win the game rather than carry out the game plan, which he cant because of his inability to read defenses, lousy footwork, terrible instincts, pseudo leadership and an immature attitude. Dilfer knew his limitations perfectly, hence he was a decent fit for a QB starved team like the Ravens. He didn't need to do much. As far as Eugene is concerned, he cant do much but will force his will, like Sanchez and self-destruct. He will never ever be nothing more than a backup. Its just a matter of time. I like your idea of trading back from #18 and finding a way to grab Jimmy. And oh yea, only under one condition - they take Eugene off our hands.
