Jetsfan80
How can the Bucs justify to their fan base just letting Revis go for nothing?
pedro55
How can the Bucs justify to their fan base just letting Revis go for nothing? New regime. Starting over. And honestly, who really gives a crap about Revis in Tampa? He's not a 'star' so to speak to most people outside of NY. He's the best CB in the NFL, but he's also not a guy people come to the stadium to see or watch. So after one 4-12 season in Tampa, who really cares about Revis? They lost draft picks and a year, but most fans aren't going to give a damn about a guy who played one season for a team that went 4-12. Especially if the Bucs wind up 8-8 without him. I mean the Jets went 8-8 without Revis. Most Jets fans only care because he was one of the best players the Jets ever drafted and he spent a good amount of time on the team. One year 'rentals' usually aren't that big a deal. Did any Jets fan really lose sleep over Landry? Probably not.

Larz
No, March 13 is when that kicks in. txs. looks like mevis is doing us a favor and not negotiating a pay cut. the bucs will have to cut him to save the pick. we all know he isn't going to do them a vilma favor and come back for less without seeing what the raiders will pay him

Jetsfan80
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000332914/article/donte-whitner-cleveland-browns-closing-on-contract Donte Whitner, Cleveland Browns closing on contract By Marc Sessler Around the League Writer Published: March 11, 2014 at 12:50 p.m. Updated: March 11, 2014 at 02:12 p.m. Cleveland finished ninth in the league against the pass last season, but that isn't stopping the Browns from re-imagining their frisky secondary. Amid whispers that Cleveland has "significant interest" in trading for Darrelle Revis, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported Tuesday that the Browns are "close to a deal" with free-agent safety Donte Whitner. A source close to Whitner later told NFL Media that it's "almost a done deal." It's a clear indication that Browns safety T.J. Ward won't be back with the team, especially if a weighty salary for Revis is being considered. Whitner, the No. 47 player on our top 101 free agent list, is a bone-crushing backstop who would amount to a popular signing after playing his college ball at Ohio State. He's started all but one regular-season tilt for the San Francisco 49ers over the past four seasons and would give Cleveland the sixth-best safety in the NFL from last season, per Pro Football Focus. He's also set to turn 29 in July. Kinkhabwala also reported that the Browns are closing in on a pact with free-agent linebacker Arthur Moats, who played under coach Mike Pettine and Browns defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil during their year together with the Buffalo Bills. It's far from a reality right now, but a secondary of Whitner, Revis and Joe Haden would amount to a collection of talent unmatched in Cleveland since Hanford Dixon and Frank Minnifield wreaked havoc on the old AFC Central. In the latest edition of the "Around The League Podcast," the guys study the free agency picture with the help of NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. They definitely won free agency. Not much else. Pettine at least knows how to use Revis. 6 wins.
