BroadwayJoe12 Posted March 21, 2014 Share Posted March 21, 2014 The Jets are showing "heavy interest" in Clemson WR Martavis Bryant, according to draft insider Tony Pauline. This would be an interesting situation, since Jets fans are still trying to get over Stephen Hill's lack of development. Bryant is not as raw as Hill was, but he's more of a vertical target than anything right now. The Clemson product is an outstanding athlete, although projection must heavily be factored into his evaluation. He and Bashaud Breeland could be the real reasons Rex, Idzik and Marty have been paying so much attention to Clemson and not just for Sammy. Hill lead the nation in YPC as well: something along the lines of 29.5 yards per reception. Granted it was only on 30ish catches, but I still think everyone is writing the book on Hill too soon. I'd prefer a guy like Devin Street thats not on peoples radar because of his Shoulder surgery in October. He's a tall receiver that can run solid routes and has dependable hands. And with the 12 draft picks that we have this year I certainly hope that we dont over reach for Desean Jackson if the Jets are in fact serious. Granted, he'd be very good right now. But guys like Devin Street, Cody Latimer,TJ Jones available in the later rounds I believe will provide very good football players for a team in a couple years. Im really high on these three in the 3rd-5th round area and would love for the Jets to pick up atleast two of these guys, especially if they dont get Jordan Matthews. Its not every year you get 12 draft picks. As for the 2 years, sh*t, I've waited 20 already. I expect Idziks complete implementation to be in full effect by 2016 anyway.
