Casey Pachall is a guy I would take a flyer on -- his substance abuse problem has not resurfaced and he has recovered from his broken arm (non-throwing arm). Great arm and knows how to play the position.  Might be off the radar for most teams because of his past off the field problems.

Less of a sleeper, but Tom Savage may drop to the mid rounds.  NFL QB all the way.

T0m is a figment of the caricature of the shadow of the man he used to be.  Let him suffer through what's left of his miserable existence in peace.

It's OK, he is looking for attention w/post as opposed to content ;)

But he has a good heart :)

with all the Clemson connections, we'll probably be in the mix for Boyd 5th/6th/7th round.

I would cast my vote for Aaron Murray but even he seems to be gaining steam nowadays!

The MMQB's Peter King believes Georgia QB Aaron Murray "looks like a Day 2 pick."
Murray displayed "good mobility and the passable arm strength NFL teams expected" at his pro day last Wednesday, according to King. "I think I showed these teams they don’t have to worry about my knee, they don’t have to worry about someone who’s not going to be able to participate in the preseason," Murray said. The exhibition occurred less than five months after the Bulldogs' star tore his ACL. King also reported that the Rams' will take a QB in the first two days of May's draft, and we already know that Murray intrigues them. Apr 22 - 5:46 PM

Accurate, but... ducks.

The only QB that is probably more impressive is Teddy Bridgewater. Fales accuracy is rivaled by none in this draft class and his decision making and movement in the pocket is underrated. His arm strength may not be the best, but he's not throwing to 9 routes every time (Which he can throw). David Fales is a machine when it comes to anything 20 yards or under and his back shoulder throw only confirms that his accuracy isn't just based on having WR's with superb hands, his ball placement is phenomenal. WR's can't help but to catch the ball. He also has a pretty fast release.

He's very accurate, I didn't give it enough justice. I don't think I can see Teddy Bridgewater improving all that much, I think he's greatly overrated. But this guy, I can see improving pretty well. Some of the short throws on just the first video aren't thrown as well in the nfl

Fales played in an offense with short to deep reads like Bridgewater did so his deep ball should improve. He's still not particularly good.

Logan Thomas in 4.

Fales played in an offensive system that has some resemblance to Marty's system. He's a west coast system QB which is what we run. He's still not particularly good??? lol.

David Fales in 2012 lead the nation with 72% comp rate, throwing 33 TD's his first year starting. In 2013 David Fales completed 64% and beat a Fresno State team that was on an 11 game winning streak led by Derek Carr by throwing 6 TD's for 550 yards as well as 1 rushing TD. He was 3rd in the FBS with 4189yds, threw 33 TD's in 2013 which was tied for 6th with Johnny Football,  and was tied for the most 300 yard passing games with 9 in his conference (tied with Derek Carr). In two full years as starter, Fales only had 2 games where he didn't throw a TD as a starter and 5 games where he only threw 1 TD. He averages 2.65 TD's per game and he threw an INT on less than 3 percent of his throws.

Thats pretty good and this kid is being slept on.

I think the Jets are all in on dual threat QB's like Geno and Vick and would not mind adding another one late in the draft to develop.  I would watch Boyd, Logan Thomas, Brett Smith as possibilities.

I like Brett Smith. He's right behind Fales. I've heard that he has some throwing mechanic issues that could obviously be solved, but what was amazing to me is that I heard that he only throws with his upper body, primarily just his arm. For him to be able to throw with such power imagine if he's able to get his legs into his throws? Brett Smith is another one, and he can run with the football as you mentioned. I think the league is really changing in regards to where quality at the QB position can be found. I think a lot of these quality QB's are being found in the later drafts because the role of a QB in today's league has changed but the qualities in what these "experts" look for hasn't. This is why certain guys like a Russell Wilson or a guy with just an ugly throw but a winner like Kaepernick can go fall out of the 1st round and many times out of the 2nd.

Brett Smith could be one of those QB's. Im high on him too, just not as high on him as Fales. I wouldn't be surprised though if the top 3 QB's of this class are Bridgewater, Brett Smith and David Fales. the rest of these top guys I'm not overly excited about.

The two issues with Fales are his size and his arm strength.  He is a short guy, but he has shown he can run an offense, for sure.

You're right. This is why I listen to the experts but so much. The two issues with Russell Wilson was his size and his arm strength, but like in college he showed that he could run an offense and make good decisions with the football.  I completely slept on Wilson because I just never got a chance to see him. A guy who was very pro Russell Wilson was Vicious86 which I haven't seen around these parts for some time. Man, did he hit it out the park with Wilson though.

I really really hope we draft this guy.

Most college systems still run deep to short. So does SJS. The reason that matters is because you don't get trained over time to plant your feet to drive the deep ball. I agree that Falas has the same problem as Bridgewater but to a larger degree and he also has other mechanical problems that Bridgewater doesn't have, especially getting some speed on the shorter passes and outs.
