GREENBEAN
Poor fella better get his Sh*t together this season. Stephen Hill, the Jets' second-round draft pick in 2012 who hasn't proved worthy of a second-round draft pick, is frustrated. The wide receiver reportedly needs a strong training camp to hold onto his roster spot, something at least one New York fan thinks Hill doesn't deserve. The fan apparently voiced that opinion during Friday's practice, and Hill fired back. Stephen Hill (AP Photo) "Take me out of the game? You act like I didn't hear that s —" Hill yelled, according toESPN.com. Here's the thing: Hill caught 24 passes for 342 yards and a touchdown last season — all of last season, and the Jets brought inEric Decker this offseason to be the No. 1 receiver in a group that includes capable hands of David Nelson and Jeremy Kerley. Taking Hill out of the game isn't a farfetched idea.

MexiRoll6
I hope his hands are as good as his hearing. He simply doesn't play fast. I know his 40 time is blazing, but he doesn't get separation and doesn't use his size advantage to his advantage. Plus, he drops too many balls. If he continues to play like that he will not be hearing J-E-T-S, but B-U-S-T.

derp
Hill's big and fast. It'd be nice if he learned how to play like one or the other. Just one. Lal mentioned something about him using his size better this offseason, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Go Jets77
Guy is bust. It's more than obvious. Homers just like to fool themselves like they did with Nacho Taco, Vlad, VG etc. Makes them feel better. Like saying we'll win 10 games this year. When you have as many division titles as the Jags you cling to any hope you can. Hill needs to go. Fast. No pun intended. GREENBEAN
Doesn't play fast at all, nor does he ever get separation... Would you look at that sh*t???? He's like lightning. That was the same game where Troy leveled him on the sideline and he held on to the ball for the catch. The guy is not complete garbage. It's been more injuries than anything with him. COME ON HILL!!!! If he would just come around it could change everything.

Most of what is said about Hill is regurgitated nonsense... Can't run routes Isn't fluid Looks lost It's stupid recycling of criticism that gets repeated so much, it sticks. FACT...Hill has improved each year Hopefully that trends continues and he makes a big leap at some point.

I still feel that if he's able to stay relatively healthy for all 16 games this season he will put up very respectable numbers. The kid knows the system, is familiar with the quarterback and is a hard-worker, I expect his natural talent to show this year.

BroadwayJoe12
Of course the ball is overthrown too, SMH, walk in touchdown their. One would hope that with the addition of Decker as well as Kerley drawing more attention, Hill is going to get more opportunities like this. Hopefully we can capitalize on them a bit more than last season. It's not too much of a stretch either, considering, if I'm remembering correctly, Geno was actually fairly successful on passes over 20 yards last year. Obrien2Toon
It was obvious when they drafted him that he was a project and if he was going to be good it would take 3-4 years. So it should come as no surprise that he's struggled so much so far.

For perspective, Marquise Lee will be 23 this November. Josh Huff will be 23 in October. Bruce Ellington will be 23 in August. Martavis Bryant turns 23 in December. Kelvin Benjamin turned 23 two months before Hill did (February).
Villain The Foe
This fat ass was a better investment obviously. Doesn't play fast at all, nor does he ever get separation... I can't front, this particular play is sick. Never seen this gif before. When I first saw it thought for a second that it was some sort of animation created by someone, then I realized that the gif is real. Thats just ridiculous. But to add, I dont think anyone has ever questioned his ability to run a fly route, and his catching has improved. What has been questioned is mostly everything else. Check out routes that require him to make sharp quick moves in tighter spaces, he'll suddenly will look like he has two left feet. He's a terrible, terrible route runner. Granted, this is show and prove season, and it may just come to fruition given the arrival of Decker. But man, I'll say again, that clip above is absolutely freakish. WOW. roscoeword
I remember that play last season. I also remember as I watched it, seeing him open, I was more than positive that it would not end up in a completion, even before the ball was overthrown. It's like too many good things have to happen for this to work: 1. the ball has to be an accurate throw 2. If so, he has to actually catch it running full speed probably with his hands (and not body)... And since our qb isn't very accurate, and Hill is a little spastic, I knew we were not coming away with a TD bomb. All these thoughts were in my head as that play developed... that's when it dawned on me that we don't have an NFL passing attack.

Geno had his many flaws, but passing efficiency over 20 yards was actually a strength and an aspect where he was towards the top of the league. kelticwizard
The major problem on most long throws is underthrown. Good qbs, when they do miss, tend to miss a trifle long. Normal QB's habitually come up short. That ball was within a foot or so of being a perfect pass.
