Interesting article about the secondary situation

You have to love what goes on around this team sometimes.  Let me start off by saying that I am in no way defending this mess of a CB situation, but do people not see the blatant hypocrisy that exists in some of these "Izdick" arguments?  Let's recap shall we?

1.  The Jets pursue Vontae Davis, he immediately turns around and signs back with the Colts at the start of FA.  Idzik is cited as having been used as a bargaining chip for Davis and criticized for actually pursuing a CB.

2.  The Jets opts not to pursue Revis, who immediately turns around and signs with the Patriots moments into FA.  Reports existed at the time that Revis' agent was attempting to get the Jets involved in order to use them as a bargaining chip with the Pats, but the Jets didn't bite.  We subsequently get to hear all about how the Jets obviously could have gotten Revis.

Anyone else see the issue with the rather contradictory nature of these two arguments?  That's before even getting into the latter's rather rocky history with this team, including Idzik, and the fact that they had just sent him packing less than a year before that.  Again, none of this is to say the Jets couldn't have done quite a bit more to address the CB position this offseason, which goes far beyond those two players, but that's a bit different than trying to argue that both means of addressing two extremely similar situations are somehow wrong, considering each requires an argument to be made in favor of the other approach.

Sounds about right.
