FloridaJetsFan Posted August 29, 2014 Share Posted August 29, 2014 After getting frustrated with Ryan Quigley's squibs last night, I started to think - there's GOT to be an unemployed recent college punter who can boom the ball better than this pud! So I did a little research on last year's stats, and as bad as I think Quigley is everytime I see him punt, his stats tell a different story and that might be the reason he's still our only Punter on the roster. His average punt last year was 45.5 yards putting him at 18th in the NFL, while his net average was 38.9 yards placing him at 22nd on that list. It sounds fairly bottom tier, but when you consider that 38.9 is just 1.1 yards off the median punt last year and 4.3 yards shy of the very best net average, then it's not as horrific as what we think we see everytime he's out there.
