But he will have a regular spot on Mike Francesa's WFAN radio show. Francesa announced Tuesday that starting next week, the backup quarterback will join him on Tuesdays, a seemingly improbable notion given Vick's status on the depth chart and Francesa's long-strained relationship with the team. "I'm surprised by that myself," Francesa said on the air. "It was started by the Vick camp. They wanted to do something this year on Tuesdays. I'm glad to do it with them. We will have Vick with us every week, I believe on Tuesdays. "And remarkably, the Jets said yes. That surprised me. We held it up because we didn't know if the Jets would say yes. They did. It was something the Vick camp came to us with and we were glad to do it. I'm looking forward to it." A team spokesman told Newsday that the organization was not aware of Vick's agreement with WFAN. Francesa is going to use Vick to humiliate the Jets at every turn, and Vick isn't exactly the most nimble wordsmith to start with. Which is why I call "bulls--t" on this whole "Jets not aware" garbage. They KNOW what they're doing. Why? Because they WANT Controversy apparently. It does reek of trying to get your "brand" out there nonsense. Vick is a despicable person, but he has mostly been polite and measured in his statements all summer. jetfuel Posted September 3, 2014 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I have to be honest and say that I detest Vick and even considered jumping ship when they signed him because of how disgusted I am by what he has done as I am an avid animal rights enthusiast. I also don't think he has "done his time" but I really don't want to get into that whole debate because the time has passed for that. The NFL let him back in, not the Jets. I have somehow gotten past it for the sake of my Jets. All that said, I have to admit that I think he is actually a good addition to the team and will have a positive impact on Geno in his development. I also think he is the best option the team has had at backup QB in eons. As for the whole Fatcessa thing ... I think it is a dumb move. Mike Fatcessa is a talking bloated carcass of a man who lives to crap on the Jets and I don't see any good coming of this, but at the same time ... who cares? As for the Jets being unaware, can't be possible as all players sign media agreements and need permission.
