DRJETS
The timeout to me was not a big issue. It happens. Its happened to so many teams. When coaches try to ice a kicker at the last minute and finding out he would have missed the FG on the attempt. It happens very often during the regular season and the playoffs. Infact the JETS have never really ever had that happen to them. So its no biggie. They still converted on that 4th down. The bigger issue is that after so much effort during the off season and the draft the only real upgrade we have in our receiving crops is Decker. When he is out we are back to Kerley the Savior. The disappearance of Nelson and Salas was telling. Cumberland is hurt and not able to contribute 100%. Amaro needs to start firing. The fact he was not an option in the 4th was telling. To me thats the biggest problem. Because the murderer's row of QB's we are going to face the next 5-6 weeks over offense better take the field with the objective of atleast scoring 30 points. And if Decker is out not sure how they are going to do that. Are you kidding me? not a big issue. Wow just wow. If by convincing yourself that it was not a big issue, make you heal better from yesterday debacle, then more power to you.
DRJETS
honestly in my mind the butt fumble isn't top 100, we were already getting smoked at that point , it was more comical than anything Anything that bring embarrassment to the brand you are rooting for should be considered a blunder, especially when that play was named the number one as worst of the worst play by fans and brought a year of ridicule to our team. In fact, ESPN for like almost a year every single day had a segment of the butt fumble.

T0mShane
The biggest problem with the timeout was that our second year defensive tackle was calling it. Imagine what would happen to a Pats or a Giants player if they pulled that sh*t.
Blackout
If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Jets start 0-2 that year? sure did. think the 2nd loss was to Baltimore but am too lazy to search. then the jets went on to kick some ass and take names....until we ran into a buzz saw named the Denver Broncos. ps - jets should've went 11-5 but we stole a game from the Seahawks thanks to quick thinking by Vinnie

PatsFanTX
ps - jets should've went 11-5 but we stole a game from the Seahawks thanks to quick thinking by Vinnie Is that the game Vinny was tackled on the 3-yard line and the refs gave him a TD? I believe that loss knocked the Seahawks out of the playoffs.

Lith
My perspective on the timeout TD is probably different from what I have seen here. I was at the game. I saw the ref waving the play off and heard the whistle blow. Assumed it was a pre-snap penalty on us, so I didn't even watch the play in the EZ. I knew it was no play -- so I never got upset about it. After watching the TV highlights, I get the anger and frustration, but I never thought we had scored on the play. If by convincing yourself that it was not a big issue, make you heal better from yesterday debacle, then more power to you. I am sorry but i do not see this as a one play debacle. We got the first down there. We even had enough time to score a TD but we couldn't. And that is the bigger issue. Why is the margin of error so thin on offense. That's the one of the real issues. The TO was only one play that gave us a glimpse at the trust issues JETS coaches have with Geno. As was pointed out yesterday before MM's mea culpa today, the lack of trust in Geno by JETS coaching staff led to the JETS downfall in this game. And it was not just on one play. It was evident through out the game. The appearance of the drive killing Vick package on the very next drive after Geno's INT was one example. But watch the game again and its replete with a few instances where the lack of trust is evident. So yeah you can focus on one play and pity the misfortune the JETS had OR look at the bigger picture and actually see what is the real issues that were responsible for the loss and that will hamper the progress of what could be the JETS next franchise QB. Smashmouth
For me it's the 1981 playoff with the Bills - what a freakin mess..... Mess ? We were down 24 - 0 and Todd got us back in the game before the Int in which the safety was crossing the end zone and Todd never saw him it was not that bad a situation in an amazing comeback
CTM
IMO, nothing, I mean NOTHING, will EVER be worse than Gastineau's roughing the passer in '86. the worst
