Marty called time out because formation issue.

Said Bilal should have lined up on other side, so he tried to call a time out when time was running down. BUT didn't need to, because Geno told Bilal to move and got the play off in time.

Plus, Mangold snapped the ball already when the play was called dead.

Marty takes blame for TO, says it was over alignment which Geno corrected then obviously wanted it back. Took two or three questions. #nyj

Did anyone else see Rex's presser today?

I was watching on the phone so didnt get it all but it sounds like he said Marty was like "no, no, never mind" or something like that...after he first tried to call the timeout and saw Geno put Bilal in the right position.  Sheldon didnt realize it and thats when he stepped into call it.  Rex thought it was called on the field because clearly the ref got Marty's message to let let the play go.

Think thats how he described it.  Again, watched on phone and couldnt hear it perfectly.

Yes, that is exactly how it was described. Marty wanted a timeout, then saw Geno fixed the formation issue and was OK with it.. but Sheldon didn't know and asked for it anyway.

Marty:  "I've got to do a better job of communicating and trusting 'Big Geno.' I've got to trust Geno to get everything fixed before the 40-second [play] clock. That's the scenario. I was surprised the timeout was called."

Serious question here, especially with the D getting shredded should Richardson be doing something other than standing next to Rex watching the O? Like something with the defensive coaches ? No matter what happened there we still had 5 minutes left the D was going to have to go make a stop it wasnt the last play of the game....

Sheldon needs to fall back and worry about making plays on defense. The guy loves himself a little too much right now...especially for someone who struggles at rushing the passer.

This is the least of their issues.

What does that mean? We went to Lambeau. Were able to get a 21-3 lead and lost by 7 to Aaron Rodgers. Our offense still looks much improved and our Dline/Lbers look really good. Our secondary SHOULD get better. Plenty of positives to take from this game.

Do we have some other issues to work out? Sure. But better to lose on the road against an NFC team than to lose to an AFC team or even worse an AFC east team. This is the type of game you will forget IF we beat the Bears next week or beat the Pats.

Obviously it was a tough loss to swallow, but it's just 1 game. Everyone needs to relax.

If that went to OT I think we were going to lose.  We couldn't stop Rodgers at all.  I'm not as mad about this TO because it shouldn't have even come down to one god damn play.  We were up by 18 freaking points.

This game was a disaster of mistakes that I was just speechless at that point.

I will just present this with no comment.

5:04 (3 seconds): The ball is snapped, a split-second before Boston blows his whistle and raises his arms to kill the play. A frame-by-frame review shows the shotgun snap is halfway to Smith when the play is blown dead. Technically, the play should've counted -- a 36-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Kerley. As it turns out, it's only a four-man rush by the Packers. Powell runs a pass route to the right sideline, drawing Burnett in coverage. What will never be known, however, is whether the Packers slacked off, knowing the play didn't count. Judging by the reaction, some players -- including safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the end zone -- knew there was no play.

"You know what? It really doesn’t matter now," Ryan said Monday.
