JetNation
With domestic violence in the NFL dominating the headlines in recent weeks, it’s no wonder people are asking Jets head coach Rex Ryan about that status of rookie wide receiver Quincy Enunwa. Enunwa, a sixth round pick out of the university of Nebraska, was initially named to the Jets 53-man roster, only to be waived and placed on the practice squad less than 48 hours later. At that time it was reported that Enunwa had been involved in an altercation in a New York City hotel. Later, it was discovered that the incident involved Enunwa and a female companion. Police reports revealed one side of the story claiming Enunwa grabbed the woman by her ankle and pulled her off of a bed, resulting in injuries to her head and finger. Asked about Enunwa’s status in a recent press conference, Ryan didn’t elaborate in terms of how the team planned to handle the situation moving forward, but the coach was quoted as saying “Whether it’s here or in society, or whatever, it obviously has no place in society. But again, I think until you know facts of all situations, I think you can pass judgment too early on a number of things, including domestic violence”. ESPN.com’s Jane McManus is reporting that the league is investigating the claims, and with it being a pending legal matter, Enunwa referred any questions about the incident to the Jets public relations staff. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/11535131/new-york-jets-wr-quincy-enunwa-domestic-violence-case-being-investigated-league View the full article

I guess he was blindsided by questions about a practice squad player at this point of the season.
