Xtina
All anyone is talking about, not just on the so called sports channels but every media outlet in existence is their sudden discovery of thugs and criminals in the NFl. Florio's PFT site gained its notoriety with its arrest list which always has a dozen or two players on it. Suddenly the world thinks its a problem? Where they have been all along? Enough! JustInFudge
There is 1 game on Thursday nights. A bunch of games all day Sunday and one during the evening. And 1 game on Monday Nights. If you like college Football, they typically play Saturdays with some week night games sprinkled in here and there.
slats
The league has been brushing these abuse cases under the rug for years, but the high profiles and video of Ray Rice's incident, followed by Adrian Peterson's kid's pics just won't go away. Goodell's too lenient sentence followed by an overly harsh sentence (by his own new domestic abuse rules' standards), as well as an exciting new use for the commissioner's exempt list (you know the Ravens wish they had that option when they cut Rice) has also helped to keep the fire burning. Not to mention Greg Hardy. The visuals and the timing has just been too much to slow down.

kay_gee
the NFL has gone out of their way in the last 10-15 years to be larger than life. they've used expanding and new media to their advantage - just look at how they've changed rules for no other reason but to benefit fantasy football. this is the downside to trying to be the center of the universe. increased scrutiny, and in this case, deserved scrutiny. Integrity28
Honestly, it is important to speak up on behalf of victims of domestic violence. That is a given. However, I do find the moral high ground we're seeing disgustingly ironic, considering this is the same public that made Jerry Springer an international phenom. #27TheDominator
So... their children and spouses deserve it. Yeah. Great. Let's start that up again. These guys get paid a bunch of money and have been entitled their whole lives based upon their ability to assault people on a football field. Why is anyone surprised when they exhibit that behavior off of it? It is a crime and a tragedy, but not a shock.

JetsFanInDenver
This has been a long time coming. Since football is so widely followed and the NFL yields so much influence over the media you knew it always was waiting for a proper trigger to come out. And that trigger was Ray Rice's elevator video. Goodell found out that a video is worth a thousand images. The moment America collectively saw the business end of Ray Rice's fist hit a woman all bets were off. That visceral feeling most of the country had on watching this made the untouchable NFL players surefire fair game for all of media. And then the media found they didn't really have to look far and deep. There were so many skeletons on the NFL's front porch. Suddenly AP was being outed for beating kids and then Greg Hardy was being shamed nationally for something I am sure he was not even shamed locally when he was convicted and appealed his conviction and so on. SO this will continue for a while. Looks like most advertisers made enough noise so people know they are not in cahoots with the NFL lethargy on these issues and have given Goodell time to fix it. Then it will be business as usual.
T0mShane
A little concern trolling by ESPN, otherwise it's nonsense.
