Very excited about this show because Jim Gordon is quite possibly the most overlooked comic book character ever written by TV and movies (though Nolan finally did him some justice). But Netflix already bought the rights to it, and it's hard for me to get into a show on a weekly basis when I know I can binge watch without commercials in the future. I wish they'd just throw the whole seasons up, keeping the current model is just dumb when it's clear people prefer the other way.

Yeah I totally get the netflix thing, it's hard for me to be patient and wait though. Have you seen the first 2 episodes?

Pretty much with you on this.

Have you watched Marvel's Agents of Shield? Is it any good?

Not yet. The previews for this past episode though looked great.

You don't watch anything Batman on a computer. I'm pretty sure that's an actual law somewhere.

I got about 30 minutes into the pilot before I remembered that I can't stand Joss Whedon. There are still parts of the Marvel Universe movies that his style pops up in and it makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I think Kevin Feige keeps a lot of what he wants to do in check.

The one show that I think is going to be absurdly cool is Daredevil. Honestly don't think I've ever looked forward this much to a new show before. Scott Glenn as Stick and D'Onofrio as Kingpin, I don't know how that fails, and based on what I've read it looks like they're finally giving Daredevil the noir treatment like it truly deserves.

Also guys check out Arrow on the CW if you're in to shows like this. Season 3 starts October 8 and it has a crossover with Flash that's premiering soon. Getting back to Gotham last nights episode was really good, better than the first episode.

Arrow is great. I think it may be the most well done show ever from either of the big two. Thoroughly looking forward to The Flash, it was smart of them to develop Allen's story from that universe.

I honestly think Arrow is the best show going right now, can't wait for the new season. Dying to see a Ras appearance.

The problem with all of these Superhero tv shows is ultimately budget.  Yeah there will be tons of hype and the pilots will have all this action and special effects but then the network has less money for the the rest of the season and it shows.  I tried watching Agents of Shiels all it was was the characters talking indoors in dark rooms - gee that's also coincidentally the cheapest type of scene to film.  Sorry guys I'll pass.

Forgive me it's been a while since I read the comics, is it Gordon's wife who becomes bat girl or does he eventually have a daughter who becomes bat girl?

Could be wrong but I always thought it was the daughter.

Originally it was Barbara, his daughter. Alan Moore, however, wrote a one shot where the Joker paralyzes her (intentionally) by shooting her in the back. It became such a popular book that it became incorporated as canon, and Barbara was paralyzed in the comics for a very long time. Batgirl had a few different incarnations with different characters after that. DC relaunched all of their characters about 4 years ago, though, and Barbara is back to donning the cowl.

Funny little tidbit, but the idea for Batgirl originated with the incorporation of Batwoman in the 50s, and the reason Batwoman was created is because people started speculating that Bruce and Dick were gay.  So they gave Batman a love interest to quash the rumors. There is a lot of debate in the comic collecting community as to what is truly the first appearance of Batgirl. Some say it's Batwoman's debut, others claim it's Barbara's.
