Miss Lonelyhearts
Markieff Morris wants out of Phoenix. Do we have anything they'd be interested in? I dunno. He's signed for 3 at 8 per, which kind of makes him not all that interesting as well as making it hard to match salaries. I don't think coming up with a suitable asset would really be the issue. drdetroit
I like the Porzingis pick and think he'll be an all-star but I'll still maintain Cauley Stein should have been the pick he looked like a defensive beast in summer league and even looked good offensively. JOJOTOWNSELL
http://theknicksblog.com/knicks/carmelo-anthony-recruiting-kevin-durant-to-the-knicks/ Knicks fans chastised Carmelo Anthony for attempting — but eventually failing — in his attempts to lure prized free agents to New York this past summer. Apparently, Melo is giving the full-court press to the headlining free agent of the 2016 class. According to ESPN, Anthony is and will continue to recruit Kevin Durant to the Knicks, and Durant is considering them as a viable option. Oklahoma City and Washington have been pinpointed as the two most likely landing spots for Durant when he hits the free-agent market after this season. The Knicks could very much be in the discussion because head coach Derek Fisher is a former teammate of Durant. When Fisher was hired to be the Knicks head coach, Durant raved about his former point guard to Anthony. In order to make room for Durant and what projects to be a $25 million-plus salary, the Knicks would likely have to decline player options on newly added pieces such as Arron Afflalo and/or Derrick Williams, as well as finally get Jose Calderon out of the picture. Apparently, ‘Melo has heard the cries of New York Knicks fans about his impact on luring free agents to town. This will be an interesting development to keep an eye on throughout season, depending on how both the Thunder and the Knicks do in 2015-16. If the Knicks make some improvements, they obviously improve their chances at making a run at Durant. Conversely, if the Thunder flop and don’t make the playoffs or bow out early, that would seemingly increase the chance that Durant strongly considers other options after the year. The situation is very fluid and it is very early in the process, so let’s not speculate too much. But it’s something very intriguing to monitor over the next — oh, 10 months. RutgersJetFan
Look out NBA! First the NBA, next the Olympics for Kristaps Porzingis? No, the Latvian big man isn’t going to try to qualify to be a sprinter in Rio, but Knicks general manager Steve Mills said Friday the team’s prized rookie has been studying tape of Olympic champion Usain Bolt this summer to improve his running form. “One day I went by him, and [Porzingis] was in the cold plunge [pool] and he was on his phone, and I went over to see what he was doing,” Mills said. “He was watching Usain Bolt videos on running techniques. “He is that diligent in terms of trying to understand every aspect of his body, every aspect of getting better and stronger. He’s a unique guy in that regard, and it will allow him to become the best player he can.”

drdetroit
mills should make him watch dirk videos 6 hours a day that is his upside. That said Dirk wasn't Dirk until his 3rd year in the nba which is what I expect from Porzingis. Really very few rookies ever come in and are good right away the nba really needs to have a 20 year age limit on entering the draft their bodies are not even close to developed at 18 and 19. Lebrun and Amare are the only nba players I've ever seen come in at 18 and have NBA bodies

drdetroit
Don't want Porzingis in the starting lineup. O'Quinn should be starting at PF with Porzingis coming off the bench for 20 minutes per night.
