If The Jets Start 1-9....

......will all the "it's not Rex's fault" guys change their minds?  Or are they wedded to Rex getting a 7th year after four strait non-winning seasons no matter what?

If we lose to N.E. (in NE), Buffalo, K.C. (at KC) & Pittsburgh, which is entirely possible by the way, and go a stunning 1-9 to start, does Rex even make it to the end of the Bye Week?

What record in 2014 would it take, if any, to convince the Rexophiles that Rex should go at years end?

1-15?

I don't think it's all Ryan's fault, but I think he will be gone.  If they continue to play like this, I don't see dumping him before the bye.  There is no reason to do that unless you are worried they will turn it around and Idzik is worried he will be stuck with Rex again after a 6-10/7-9 type season.  The record is not what will convince me one way or the other.  There has been enough reason to fire him already and they didn't.  Idzik knows what he gave him and when you have that O and no CBs on the roster you can't expect much.  At the current time, this team does not have a single legit CB.  I know that is supposed to be Ryan's fault, but he wasn't all pissed about letting DRC out of the building because he thought going into the season with Walls and Patterson was a good idea.

1-9 probably means Woody caves to pressure, sends Rex packing midseason, and goes interim with Mornhinweg.  It also may mean Idzik might go after the season.  We'll see.

Rex is going to make it to the end of the season. Why? Because if Mornhinweg takes over and breezes thru an easy end to the schedule, there will be pressure both internally and externally to keep him on permanently. Idzik dealt with that last year, he's not going to want to deal with it again. He's gonna wait to clean the rest of the house below him when the season's over.

Do you want me to change the if to When in the title?  I know how.  Well actually I could probably figure it out with Slats and Joec help.

Truth is Rex is done here and the sooner the better he is gone the sooner we move on.

Even if Rex goes 1-9 I really doubt he will be fired mid season.  Just no point to it.  Doesn't help anything.

IMO I think that the Jets have a slight chance to beat NE, and will play 500 ball the rest of the season.  End up with 5-6 wins.

Rex will be fired.  I just hope Idzik goes with him

He should be first on the hit list.

In effect, they have wasted a year.  Last year was a clean out year which went surprisingly well, all things considered. This year should have been a year for some progress.  Instead, the wheels came off.  They should never saddle a new GM with the old coach.  He should at least have a choice.  They did things backward.  They even hired a new OC ahead of the new GM.  Idzik should have turned them down.  He bears some of the responsibility.  But like people say, there are not a lot of GM jobs available.  It was probably his only chance.

I have yet to read one person say they want to keep Rex regardless of this years record.

That fabrication has been perpetuated by the illogical hating crowd who fancy themselves the smartest guys in the room.

I think we will one of those games and be 2-8. I actually think we end up around 3-13 or maybe even 4-10.

That's the best case scenario. Simply pull the team's charter with two weeks left to play. I could visit a nice museum on a Sunday, maybe.

and this years abomination of a record is clearly not all on Rex..  The fact that we've been in every game sans San Diego is a testament to his ability to inspire.  The Jets are simply outmanned offensively, defensively, and can't seem to find someone who can adequately field a punt.

What will it take to get the people who hate Rex Ryan to accept the fact that they're not going to get a 100% conversion rate to their point of view?

Rex is going to be fired. Enjoy.

Hence the thread and question.

Since you posted, I'll ask YOU directly:

What will it take for YOU (or any Rex Supporter)to WANT Rex Ryan Fired?

Nothing is all on anyone, that said, he has plenty of blame in this mess. It has nothing to do with his ability to inspire, and everything to do with the fact that they have a dominant Dline, and a very good front 7. Its really as simple as that, oh, and the fact that the Lions and Bears, who are not great to begin with, were without their best players.

To absolve Rex of this mess is ridiculous, even more ridiculous than solely blaming him for this mess. I don't think many people solely blame him, but he is a big part of the problem.

I think if they start 1-9 Rex will be gone. Then it will be time to evaluate Idzik for the remainder of the season and see if MM can get anything out of this team. If MM can't get anything out of this team, then Idzik needs to go too.

What's our record with Bevell at HC and Idziks current roster?

Rex is getting fired no matter what.  The only thing that's going to happen is your hero the weak capologist GM will get another 2-3 years to continue to wreck the franchise.

If the Jets go 2-14, with only Sheldon Richardson and maybe Jace Amaro to show for two years work, does Idzik get a pass?

It seems impossible that Idzik could get fired, based on length of service. But with this start, and the early returns on his drafts all bets are off.

The Jets ironically will have some talent (not a ton) next year and a ton of cap space. So if they are going to turn this around, next year is crucial. Not sure Idzik has earned the right to give it another shot.
