New HC or OC..

I've said this before... If we clean house, and Rex goes, why not Kubiak?

I've always really really really liked his running game. He turned the texans into a contender with so-so QB. And the ravens offense is looking pretty damn good under his guidance. Experience as a HC. I don't see much of a downside.

I would be very happy with Kubiak. There are some very interesting assistants out there, as mentioned, but I think it's about time we hire someone who's had HC experience.....if Rex goes, of course.

Peyton Manning is the offensive coodinator for the Broncos. Adam Gase is just a guy Peyton tolerates.

Money.

Interesting. Hadn't thought about that but you make some solid points.

An offensive coordinator is just someone that Peyton bounces ideas off of. Eventually people will realize that it's not a coincidence that every OC that Peyton, Brady and Brees have happen to look good.

Like pastrami sandwich or corned beef sandwich for lunch?  Like you could get a decent one in Denver.

Just curious, given he's thrived off a great roster when they won, he's not that bad of a coach though. I'm not that interested in him either, I don't really think we need another defensive minded coach right now.

I hope the Jets don't get hung up on the defense or offense HC thing. Just hire the best guy for the job. FWIW, the first hire should probably be a GM.

Back up the brinks truck outside Harbaugh's house, unload cash and jets-inscribed khakhi pants onto his front lawn.

If he calls the cops and tells us to **** off, go after Greg Roman (49ers OC).

Completely agree. Whatever it takes, bring in a vet QB that he can turn around and let him hand pick a QB in the draft.

Any chance we try and go after The broncos OC Adam Gase as our new OC or HC?

why? it's not hard to look good when you have peyton as your QB........this would be a high risk move. I would rather stick with MM as our OC and brin in dan quinn as the new H.C

I don't see how Harbaugh isn't our top prospect.  I would do whatever it takes - it's time for Woody to go deep into his pocket and make this happen.

He has exactly what we need...

1) Offensive minded (coming from DC guys for over a decade)

2) Hard nosed coach (coming from 6 years of a players coach)

3) Has proven to get good QB play from average QB's and an ability to develop a young one (pick up a Cousins type for next year and draft a QB)

This team has a lot of young talent and a huge amount of cap space.  Bring in a good offensive coach, get just competent QB play and you have a team that can be dangerous.

Have us Jets fans ever been happy with an offensive coordinator? Everyone from Paul Hackett to Schotty have pissed us off...

In fairness, they were also all pretty horrific.  Hackett never got another job as an OC after the Jets, and Schitty has been drawing the ire of Rams fans for a while now himself.  I don't think Mornhinweg is nearly as bad as either of those two dipsh*ts, but it's tough to deny that he has made some real head-scratching play calls this year, particularly in the red zone.  Of course the fact that the Jets haven't had a QB worth a damn in over a decade (outside of perhaps half of a season in 2008) certainly hasn't helped things at all either.

Harbaugh is under contract.  Tampering is nice and all, but c'mon.

Why the **** do we want the OC from SF?  I don't like their offense at all and they are comparatively stacked.

I keep hearing this "offensive HC" and I think it is a crock of sh*t.  Just have a GM that invests in/values offense.  Very few GMs will be as involved as Rex is in one side of the ball.  I don't know that I even want a HC calling plays on either side.  Get a guy with an overall philosophy that you like and go.  I don't think having a defensive coach was such a big deal under Mangini - he was an administrator.  Maybe with Herm he was defensively minded in the sense that he was a bit ultra-conservative, but people were not complaining about that under Parcells.

I'm not saying hire him now but next year.

By most accounts Harbaugh will not  be the HC of SF49ers' next year.   And there will plenty of teams looking to hire him - we should do whatever it takes to get him in here.

I guess I'm not going argue against the obvious appeal of harbaugh but I'm not his biggest fan. His success at standord then the niners deserves some props for sure.Lets play devils advocate, though....

1) he's really really dooshy

2) am I the only one that thinks he's way too thin skinned for NY? Especially coaching this franchise. He'll have podium post game meltdowns every other week!!

3) defense carried that team and offense wasnt exactly the 99 rams....

4) #3 was a weak argument because I didn't want to say he was really really dooshy again. I mean, he IS really really dooshy, isn't he?

totally get where you're coming from and his dooshyness will give him a 3 or 4 year shelf life - tops (especially in NY) - but this team is being built to be successful in 3 or 4 year window.  Have him make one run with this crop of talent and move on.

But most importantly, everyone has warts ... and I'm tired of first year HC's.  Let's roll the dice with a doosh that has proven to be successful rather than taking a shot on an unknown...

Idzchick will be GM for the foreseeable future, he doesn't give a damn about offense. A team's style of play is usually defined by coaches, the GM is there to do the grunt-work but the vision is laid out by the coaches.

Dooshy I can handle ... Parcells is a doosh, little bill is a humongous doosh. They're wearing rings so, no, I don't mind dooshy.

Thin skinned harbaugh would concern me. Parcels was thin skinned but he kinda earned that snippiness by winng Super Bowls. Harbaugh ain't won sh*t and I see him irritable and pissed off all the time.....and that with the pussified west coast media. NY is different animal.

Just saying...

If pigs flew and we got harbaugh, I certainly would nt be pissed. I'd be excited, yet concerned.

His play calling is atrocious, love his system, but the man is all over the place, and doesn't seem to have a real plan, and kills any momentum the team gets especially in the red zone.

because he can't trust our QB that is why give him a competent QB and you will see him much better.
