flgreen
Did race divide around Russell Wilson play into Percy Harvin trade? By Zach BrazillerOctober 22, 2014 | 2:23pm Did race divide around Russell Wilson play into Percy Harvin trade? There are several theories behind the stunning trade of Percy Harvin to the Jets. One new one is his relationship — or in this case, lack thereof — with quarterback Russell Wilson. A story from Bleacher Report portrays a locker room increasingly divided over Wilson and raises the possibility of racial tension among the Seahawks. The report, citing an anonymous player, said Harvin had “increasing animosity” toward Wilson and was leading a faction of the team that was beginning to dislike the young Super Bowl-winning quarterback. The report, citing multiple interviews with Seahawks players, says some of the African-Americans on the team feel the multiracial Wilson “isn’t black enough.” Furthermore, there is the belief within the Seahawks that Wilson isn’t accountable for his own mistakes, often blaming teammates for poor throws. #27TheDominator
If there is a racial divide and they think moving Harvin will help, fine. If Harvin is the racial divide? Uh oh. The last sentence sounds like they were pointing fingers. Geno hasn't done that. All errant throws are generally his fault.

Klecko73isGod
this sh*t makes me sick .... not black enough ? You know what makes me sick? The FACT that none of this was even remotely hinted at prior to the trade and that this article contains no direct quotes from anyone with the balls to go on the record and that you are dutifully lapping it up. JetsFanInDenver
If the Pats had made this trade the media would been full of talking heads fawning over the genius of Belichick for the first two days and then moved past it. But now that he is a JETS player they are going to drag him thru as much muck as they can.
Smashmouth
Yeah, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how none of this was ever reported on when Harvin was in Seattle but the second he's gone it seems like the spin machine goes into overdrive and there's a million problems with the guy. If any of this is true how bad is the local Seattle press at their job, not to mention ESPN NFL "insider" John Clayton, who lives in Seattle? Can't really explain that from a reporting perspective other than the fact some news outlets will simply not report on this type of racial bullsh*t and others will because as soon as you bring something this this up you WILL be considered a Racist. Keep in mind Harvin was traded from the Seahawks for many reasons, some out in the open, some hidden from view, that's when reporters like this start to dig. If Seattle does a good job of keeping their dirty laundry in their own house and this really was a shock then the issues will start to come out when people start to question why a 60 Million dollar player was traded for a 4th to a 6th round pick

T0mShane
The race element of this story was tagged on later, sounds like. Harvin is anti-authoritarian and Wilson is a company man. Obviously, friction would occur.

When a player disrupts a team to the levels we are now finding out about Harvin, how much effort do you think the guy put into learning the offense and honing his rout running abilities that he;s been criticized for in the past ? I think we can all agree on that. What is so controversial about that to you? And you are buying the Seahawk spin because you want to. Because it plays into some preconceived notion you obviously have of Percy Harvin. You're not thinking logically and realizing the truth probably lies somewhere in between. If Harvin were remotely as big a locker room cancer as is being claimed, no way the Jets pull the trigger on this deal.
