Farewell Rex - Thanks for the memories

Was holding out hope that the team would respond but this is a disaster.  We've been in 6 out of 8 games despite this terrible roster but at the end of the day it's about wins.  I don't think they'll be able to come back from this humiliating performance against the Buffalo Bills of all teams.

Thanks for 09' and 10' as those were 2 of the most fun years I've had watching 30 years of Jet football.

You got a raw deal but it is what it is.  Lets hope the next coach is given a fair shake.

The utter delusion of the 'Cult of Rex' is something I'll never understand...

He was never given a fair shake and will win the super bowl for a team and fan base that appreciates him.

^ I genuinely wonder for posters like this if there's anything that Rex could ever do that would merit his firing. This is just absolutely bizarre, but it goes to show how a cult of personality can attract such devoted followers. If he wanted to, Rex could have these people drinking cyanide-laced Kool Aid, waiting for Comet Hale-Bopp to arrive.

Rex was given every chance as HC of the NYJ, maybe not in 2014 but over the course of 6 seasons it's hard to continue to come up with excuses.

2 of those 5 years you're talking about resulted in a better performance than you've ever seen watching the team.  May not seem like it but it's true.

That's not factually true, the Tuna '98 season was the best I've seen.   But, i do get your point and I'm not disagreeing that those were 2 great years.    Unfortunately that was 4 years ago and the trend is getting worse not better.   It's time to start with a new regime - GM/HC/OC/QB - they all need to go.

yeah losing like this to the Bills at home is unacceptable.  HC and OC are gone but Idzik will get another couple years.

I know. The new cry baby mods cried to max that I called you " an awful poster " and that I needed a talking to. So pathetic that I'll say it in public

I'd like to know who that was...  I remember you calling me awful...  I also remember laughing because you and your twin are 2 of the worst posters I've ever seen.  Weird.

Rex made his own bed dude don't go feeling sorry for him. He was behind EVERY BAD DECISION this franchise has made since he got here and his BIG MOUTH only made it worse.

No kidding. I wonder what it is these apologists see in this guy. The Jets don't even look like a professional football team half the time. Wasted challenges, timeouts, qustionable game plans all stem from the HC, but these guys continue to think all Rex ever needed was a QB. Maybe Sanchez wasn't so bad.

Why?   Look at the QBs he passed on to push all with Geno?   This is his team, his QB, and his record as much as it is Rex's.

You don't get a chance to rebuild in year 3.   We are supposed to see improvement in year 2, this is a big step back.

In a way Rex seemed to be his own worst enemy. In pretty much all drafts since Sanchez we drafted defense and except Mo and Sheldon not much contribution from the rest. We dont have any impact playmakers and Harvin was too little and too late.

If a defensive player that is a bad for for this team can be found Rex will unearth him.  Pryor? Did the Jets really need a fourth strong safety? I doubt it. CB was a screaming need and went unanswered until round three when Idzik and Rex picked McDougle who was rarely healthy in college. The year prior they take an injured Dee Milliner. Kyle Wilson before that, Coples after that....... yeech.

What QB's did he pass on?

Exactly. If one goes, so does the other. He had all the draft picks and cap space a GM could dream of. He should not be given a chance to re-re-build based on his terrible performance thusfar.
