Jets Secondary worst in many years- A.A. safety play declines

....If it was somehow known before this season that Allen would be the worst player within the Jets’ secondary by mid-season, even considering position changes, there would be a confused outrage.

In 2013, Allen was Rex Ryan’s gadget to complete the puzzle versus talented offenses, and he consistently made plays. This year, he’s been burned the most out of any defensive back on the roster, whether playing safety or corner. He’s been directly responsible for 7 (SEVEN!!!) touchdowns in man coverage since Week 5. Seven touchdowns. He hasn’t been finishing plays and isn’t playing with the same instincts and fluidity that made him one of the Jets’ most valuable players on the defensive side of the ball last year. It’s plausible to think he’ll be able to turn it around whenever he gets back to just playing safety variations, but it might take awhile and it’s unlikely we’ll ever see a season like his 2013 one.

I'm floored that our 7th round safety who played in the box at South Carolina isn't shutting people down at corner...... Coples has struggled as a DB this year also. Hate this team.

And to think at one time not long ago.... we had Revis and Cromartie back there.  Remember Revis shutting down Megatron and all the other # 1 receivers...?  Those

days are gone with the wind.

Its the worst secondary I've ever seen deployed in the history of the NFL.  Which make sense because its not a passing league or anything like that.

This never would've happened if Rex valued the CB position.

4 first rounders in 8 years on secondary, and we get this. Lol only the f'n Jets.

It sounds pathetic when u put it that way. But we traded away one of those guys for Sheldon Rich. One guy is on IR. One guy is a bust and one is a rookie. Gotta look at things with a perspective. If Revis was here and Milliner wasnt on IR, there's no way in hell we'd be the worst D. Maybe a top 10 and by far, considering the rookie wouldn't be providing coverage help to Revis and probably even Milliner. Its not fair to put this on the coach. Even the most durable players get hurt. Rex has had to  use Adams (I never heard of his name until he had our lone pick against Rivers) and a 7th round safety at CB.

Colts were one of the best teams for a decade with a future Hall of fame QB. Then all of a sudden one injury and they became the worst team in the NFL. Is it fair to say Colts were the worst team even after having a future hall of fame QB on the roster?
