Vick + crap. There are no standout prospects after the top two and considering the lame duck GM and coach are asshats it doesn't look like we're going to be in a position to draft either. If this franchise refuses to be bad enough to rectify the only need that matters then we are destined to be perpetually screwed.

I can't root for the team to lose out, and it's hard for me to get behind the idea of a team doing that to their PSL holding fan base. Just seems dishonest. That said, it definitely can't happen when the GM and head coach are on two different pages. If Rex had a four year contract and was told to tank the season, he could do that. But he doesn't, so now he has to start looking at his own long term interests, and is basically coaching for his next job right now.

The good news is that they can always trade up to the #1 pick if there's a prospect they see as worthy of such a selection. Idzik may be paralyzed during the draft when trying to make a trade, but with a couple weeks (days, months, I don't know), he should be capable of negotiating a deal. That is, if he's still here.

love how so many are now resigned to vick being here and starting next year

I don't think Vick is on the roster next year. He's on a one year deal. Either he plays great to finish out the year and gets a better offer from another team (and the Jets are happy to get a comp pick for him), or he gets hurt or returns to his usual turnover prone self and doesn't generate much interest from the Jets or anyone else.

Gotta figure Mornhinweg was his biggest booster here, and once Rex is gone, he's gone, too.

it's tough to know what next year holds. i think most likely scenario is a vet starter with a drafted rookie sitting and learning. vick has the inside track if he wants to return, but who knows if he gets offers elsewhere. if he is almost done he might just decide to ride it out here. MM leaving certainly complicates things

Every team I root for, it's the same story. The sh*t owner sets the tone for everything. That Woody hasn't learned anything from misstep after misstep for 15 years is just nuts to me. Like what other experiences do you need to have in order for you to realize how not to run a team?

you be trollin?

im serious bruh

we can't keep hounding out every QB that stinks it up. lets see how he does under a real coach, somebody that knows his sh*t.

i'm sympathetic to all the players here, i'm willing to give everyone a 2nd chance under a competent coaching staff...its not a  great team, but it sure as hell isn't a 2-7 roster.

Exactly. That's why you fire him now. There is nothing to gain from any of this. And if most PSL holders are as brilliant as SAR claims, they'll understand the strategy.

Agreed. It's just a distraction that's going to pick up momentum. He's 2-8 and still a sympathetic figure. By the end of the season, Rich Eisen will be hosting a telethon for him.

It would be easier if Woody was sold on Idzik going forward. I don't think he is. Or should be.

And even if you go for the interim coach, that guy is now coaching for his next job, too. Outside of putting T0mShane in charge, there's no easy way to tank the rest of the season.

Oh yes there is. That's the beauty of having Marty. Try as he may, he will most certainly lose. Oh, he will lose.

My fantasy team is 7-3, thanks.
