11 of the past 15 years they have been between 30-50 million.  The other four years they were lower.  I cannot see them signing him for that much and keeping him long term.  I would think if he is a 8 year 'rental' clubs will be willing to give up alot of prospects. 

 

Like with the Rangers and A-Rod, a team will save them from themselves.

Sooo the 13 year $325 million deal Mikey signed is more than the Marlins have spent on their entire roster over the last half decade. I don't care what Loria says, this move is to sell seats for a couple of years and then unload to a bigger market team for a pant-load of prospects.  Again, I'd bet all my star wars guys that Stanton is on a different team before he's 30... except the fett man.
