flgreen
Under the spotlight: Michael Vick and Demario Davis November, 20, 2014 NOV 20 6:00 AM ET By Rich Cimini | ESPNNewYork.com FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Each week we will select two players on the New York Jets -- one on offense, one on defense -- who figure to play a key role in the upcoming game. The Jets face the Buffalo Bills (5-5) on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Vick Michael Vick, quarterback -- Vick, making his third straight start, has to play better than he did in the Week 8 loss to the Bills. In that game, he committed three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception) in three quarters. Since then, he has played turnover-free football, making wise choices with regard to ball security. But this will be a huge challenge because the Bills bring a lot of heat with their front four, which has produced 30.5 sacks. Chances are, Vick will be forced to play outside the pocket. How he handles himself on the move, under duress, will go a long way toward determining the outcome of this game. Davis Demario Davis, linebacker -- It looks like running back Fred Jackson will be back in the lineup for the Bills, and that will put pressure on the Jets' underneath pass coverage. Jackson has 37 receptions, second on the Bills, even though he missed two games with a groin injury. He'll be an important outlet for the oft-sacked Kyle Orton, who missed having that safety valve. Davis is the Jets' best coverage linebacker, so he could find himself in one-on-one situations with Jackson. If the Jets can contain Jackson and wide receiver Sammy Watkins, they will probably win the game.
