TuscanyTile2
I wonder if we're getting to that point. The Raiders glory days have long since passed and the league is different than it was back then. In the current landscape of the NFL (free agency, much more pass-heavy due to rules changes, etc) the Jets have had more success than the Raiders (and the Redskins for that matter). More of an observation than anything (not trying to praise the Jets with that comment). http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11914458/charles-woodson-oakland-raiders-was-ready-fight-teammate-sio-moore-celebration

Derek Carr will be an above average QB in the NFL. Don't think he will ever be elite, but he probably gets to a Matt Ryan / Andy Dalton level. vincenzo69
The Raiders have a better defense than us. Their offensive line is better. Jets and Raiders are about even at the receiver and running back positions. Most JN posters are busy giving the next Joe Montana Derek Carr an intense blowjob. The Raiders are a better team than what Idzik has currently put together and if we had played week 1 at Oakland instead of home we would have been crushed and started out the season 0-9. The Raiders at the moment don't have a better defense than the Jets( not even close) . Maybe If they do as well drafting this year , as last year , maybe that will be the case,( right now it's wrong that statement. The Raiders Oline isn't better than the Jet's ( Carr lightning quick release is more the reason they have given up just 11 -12 sacks this year). The Raiders Oline hasn't gotten the job done blocking For the run- dead last in the NFL) Derek Carr has a chance to be a very very good NFL Qb ( won't call him baby ARod like James Jones does yet), but he has to get better players around him.( needs a true number 1 Wr , a top Te and upgrades on the Oline . ( RG - Iupati in Fa and OT to eventually replace Donald penn - had great year) Think Raiders are in great shape at RB- Lativius Murray could be something special , Marcel Reece should be backup RB( I would move him full time here), and George Atkisson 111 is another monster sized + blazing speed back like the other two . The Raiders should be able to get the best Wr in this draft( get their first choice of them possible solving the number 1 . I' m hoping the Bronco's don't franchise tag Te Julius Thomas. Take it to the bank- will be A Raider if he makes it to the Fa market- whole family is die hard Season ticket Raider fans. Raiders should have 80 million to play with in Fa. Here the moves I would make on offense this offseason in draft and Fa. sign MIke Iupatk RG to team up with Gabe Jackson. let's A Howard move back to Rt. m Watson backs up lt donald Penn, and is his eventually replacement. Sign Fa Te Julius Thomas- Bronco's have to be stupid not to franchise him( if he's not will be a Raider ) Draft the best Wr( right now Amari Cooper)

Raiders should have about Eighty million dollars to play with when Free agency starts. The Raiders didn't do that well in the free agency market in 2014.( the good news most of all those contracts they can get out of without a cap hit). Where they excelled was in the draft( that draft probably saved Reggie Mckenize job- one of the best in the NFL last year.( even the few draft picks that aren't playing now, they will have a big role in 2015 .( Jonathan Dowling, Shelby Harris, and Keith Mcgill . Undrafted Fa's Seth Roberts, and George Atkisson 111) A lot of his 2013 draft that was injured last year, is starting to produce big time right now.( DJ Hayden, Watson, Latavius Murray). The Raiders will be drafting near the top in every single round , and might be able to pull off a trade for more picks when a team looking to get one of the Qb's.( Raiders have another draft like the last two and they will be in pretty good shape going forward. Hey I haven't exactly watched every Raiders offensive snap this year, rewinding each one to concentrate on the OL, but are the PFF-type rankings on Howard more or less accurate? That he's by far the weakest link on your otherwise good OL? Let's put it this way he has struggled big time at RG all year( played his best game of the season against the Chiefs). Tough to say just how good Raiders Oline is as Derek Carr just doesn't hold the football very long.( very quick release- that make them look better than. They are). The Raiders have had trouble running the ball all year.( looks like the holes aren't there, but when Lativius Murray having success running behind the same Oline , you have to question if it's the running backs. Jmo If I was the Raiders I would sign MIke Iupati to play Lg.( Gabe Jackson can play RG). let Austin Howard compete with M Watson for Rt, M watson in time going to be very good tackle( just so raw) that he needs more time to be more consistent.( can be eventually Lt for Donald Penn.( has played very well for the Raiders)
