Scott Dierking
Vick should be shown the bench. He played the Mark Sanchez last night. The shoulders were hunched, had that dazed look of someone who had no want to be in the situation that he was. Then he starts to limp. The deluded thought process that "he gives us the best chance to win" is no longer applicable. The Jets have been officially eliminated from the division title. If they have not been mathematically eliminated from the wildcard, they are eliminated by logic. Vick is on a one year deal with the Jets. The Jets get no benefit from having him audition for other teams next season and getting reps here. As bad as Geno has been, he will most likely be on the roster in some form next year. Get Vick out of there.
AFJF
I've been saying all year that Vick is the better player. His numbers show that he is, but his body language last night showed that he's just not interested. May as well cut him if that's the case. Start Simms. Get Vick out of there. I love that phrase: "best chance to win." It actually has nothing to do with winning. It is designed to shut up the questioner. The Jets best chance to win is still basically a guaranteed loss. The Steelers should be ashamed of themselves. The Jets best chance to win is an opposing QB playing like Sanchez---or Smith---or Vick.

slats
If Rex and Idzik think Vick is the best QB on the roster, they have a reason to keep trotting him out there. Idzik would like to save his job, and Rex knows that 5-11 looks better on a résumé than 2-14. If Woody and Neil Glat decide to cut bait with those two guys now, they can make Sanjay Lal the interim coach and play for draft position the rest of the way. Tell him to play Simms, and -uh- I guess there are no other potentially promising young players on the roster. How did that happen with all those draft picks? After yesterday, I think Rex knows he's gone, so it won't matter who he starts at QB. Hopefully he does the right thing and gives Simms a look, as well as Reilly over Pace. They give Reilly around ten snaps a game, time to give him a start.

JustInFudge
The comedic value of watching him play without any **** to be given is a reason. I was cracking up watching him. I've never seen a player so checked out in my life.
slats
Wait, has the narrative changed? Didn't Idzik force Geno on Rex to start the year? The narrative hasn't changed, no. The "organizational decision" to start and stick with Geno almost certainly came from Idzik. Rex knew he was coaching for his job this year. No way he'd intentionally go with a lesser QB. What has changed is that at the beginning of the year, Idzik thought his job was safe for another couple years, now it's clear that it's not. So the new "organizational decision" is to start whoever gives us the best chance to win in a last ditch effort to save the GM's job. I don't think it's gonna work, but that's going to be their focus as long as they're in their respective roles: Rex will try to pad his résumé, and Idzik will be trying to save his job. Seriously...two QBs who seem happy to be getting a paycheck and not so interested in being the guy on the field. On JI the fanboys were going gaga over the Vick signing. They acted like I was retarded and 10 years old for not understanding the genius behind signing the biggest powder keg in the NFL to be the backup qb or how a player who has always relied on his athleticism might not be as effective at the age of 33 and after years and years of injuries. Vick lost his job in Philly playing in an offense that was perfect for him for a reason. John Idzik used $5mil to bring in a washed up qb to be our backup but he couldn't sign Antonio Cromartie and/or Brandon Browner. Unbelieveable.
