Gang Green Girl
from John Czarnecki of FOXSports.com Herm Edwards played the New York Jets. He manipulated a few reporters and he secured his freedom from owner Woody Johnson. Basically, Edwards was too slick for Johnson and Jets GM Terry Bradway. Definitely underpaid at $2 million a season by head-coaching standards, Edwards wanted to be a free-agent coach or to be anywhere else but with the Jets next season. Such were his intentions despite the fact that he had two seasons remaining on his contract. The rumors had persisted all season that Edwards would end up in Kansas City as Dick Vermeil's replacement. Howie Long said it first on FOX NFL Sunday back in October. Edwards kept denying the rumors for months. He told everyone in New York on Monday he would be back with the Jets next season, although he would like his contract renegotiated upwards despite a 4-12 season. Well, that last part leaked out in the final weeks of the season. Just listen to what Edwards said on FOX Sports Radio on Wednesday when questioned by Andrew Siciliano. Siciliano: "At this hour has any team contacted the Jets about you?" Edwards: "Again, no. And I don't anticipate that. I'm the coach of the Jets. I've said that. What was that, six weeks ago we talked about it?" Siciliano: "Do you expect anyone to contact them?" Edwards: "No, I don't. Nothing's changed. I'm the Jets coach." Siciliano: "If someone did, what do you think the Jets would say?" Edwards: "As I said before,
faba
Edwards a tremendous leader and great manager lost all credibility for the author of this Johnson has to show he cares for this team and make sure we hire a coach that is competent and also must be able to withstand NY media pressure
Smizzy
Herman Edwrads is a giant stool sample. Nothing but fecal matter comes from his mouth. He is a has been that never was and he made this entire career off that 1 INT. He's a bum,a loser and an all around ,no good ,piece of sh*t. A RAT is always the first one off a sinking ship. Want some cheese HERMIE?

flushingjet
Proof positive girls know nothing about football. "Edwards gains his freedom from Johnson, who lost millions on his failed west-side stadium venture" Yeah its just swell how Woody lost millions, he's got money to burn. Now let's all go & cry about how we have to share a stadium with the Giants!
BwanaZulia
What do you expect him to say? "Herm, are you leaving the Jets" "Yes, yes I am. See ya!" He has to say that he is with the Jets and the coach. He was. Hey Jet fans, grow up. Time to move on. We can all sit around next year and talk about how Herm fleeced the Jets, but now we need a coach. BZ
runnyc262
Look both Herman Edwards and the Woody Johnson played each other. Edwards complained about the fact he was one of the lower paid coaches. This peeved off Woody. Like in a marriage, they both did simply failed to communicate that they wanted the other which got the other peeved off. In the end, Herman gets his money and Woody gets rid of a coach whos complaining peeved him. Having said that, I still wonder why the Jets have not filed tampering charges against Kansas City. Edwards had 2 years left on his contract. If the money upset him, he did not have to sign the extension 2 years ago. I think with him not signing the extension, after the 2005 season he would have been free to walk.
Cant Hackett
Wasn't even an INT. It was a fumbled snap. It wasn't off the snap. With seconds left in the game, Giants up, all they had to do was to take a knee. But the Giants tried to run a play. It was a fumble hand off from Pisarcik to Larry Csonka, Herm pick up the ball and ran for a TD and a win, the play becoming known as "The Fumble"

JetsMan57
Herm Jeff Van Gundy'd us. He saw a sinking ship and bailed before it went under. And that is the worst type of quitter there is. He even ruined our QB while walking out the door. What a piece of trash. Go tO KC and tell everybody about all the lessons your daddy taught you. Just dont forget to salute the flag twice a day, just like daddy taught, you phony.
